1 year agoI had this company for several years. There has been several times trash was not picked up and I just ignored it. Then it was 2 weeks in a row where trash was skipped without any communication as to why. I had it piling up and had to pay for a dump run. I called and they indicated my trash container was on my Deck and they were not allowed to go up there. (They had been getting it from that same location for over a year, I even built a ramp just for it. It is very windy where I live and it was kept secure there. If they had called me and told me they could not go on the deck anymore instead of literally ghosting me but still charging me, I would have happily accommodated. When I called to talk about the matter. I was very polite in asking why it happened and if I would be charged for the times they did not show up. I was basically told if I don't like it I can go somewhere else. I told them until I found another company I would put the trash can down at the bottom for their convenience, because she started threatening to charge me more because I didn't take the trash can down to the end of the road, which is 1.5 acres away. (Nobody else does that) right after she also told me to put a post in the ground and tie the trash can near my house. Then the receptionist told me if I was going to look for other providers that she would just go ahead and cancel my account and have them come get my container even though she is the one that suggested I find another provider. All because I was asking why they couldn't at least have called before just flat out skipping my house two weeks straight with no communication. I found another company within the hour (Shirks hauling) they brought me a new container right away and they send text messages to their customers when they are late or can't get the trash that week. Totally opposite experience of how DK treats people. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I almost never post reviews because I can resolve whatever the issue is with the company, but this was awful! I would encourage them to learn basic customer service skills. -

2 years agoD&K hauling is the absolute most wonderful company. They give my sons a reason to work together after they watch eagerly awaiting the trash can to come back down from the truck, so they can roll it back up to the house. They have a professional and kind demeanor and are always picking up no matter the weather. The guys who come out to pickup are always waving and smiling. Thank you so much for being a small town locally owned wonderful company with owners who care about the people they service. -
