10 years agoI can't say enough good things about Bailey Hardwoods. Our home was built about 22 years ago. It has copious amounts of golden oak finished trim on crown molding, door frames and baseboards. It was difficult to match with the latest colors of finished hardwood. Bailey Hardwoods matched the woods as closely as possible and ordered the wood from the company, Mullican, which they deal with in Ronceverte, WV and Tennessee. There the wood is processed, sanded, and stained before it is shipped back to their shops in Chapmanville or Summersville. Then the installation crew delivers and installs it. Our job was quite large and they sent out a crew of five to seven guys each day. I found Mr. Bailey to be very friendly and helpful on the phone. I think he gave me his cell phone number because he answered just about every time I called with a question. He sent out his estimator who gave us the estimate and then set up the installation dates about three to four weeks later. They delivered it three days before installation in order for the wood to acclimate to the home's temperature. I am just so impressed by the quality of their work, their friendliness, their professionalism and expertise. They came when they said they would and worked long, hard hours removing the carpet and installing the wood. They moved all the furniture themselves and replaced it once the job was done. They hauled away all the old carpet and cleaned up the boxes and extra wood pieces. They set up their saw on the front porch and went in and out, even in snow, to cut the wood to the right size. They stored their tools neatly each evening, as it was a multi-day job. They kept the floors swept clean of sawdust and debris each evening. I highly recommend Bailey Hardwoods for your hardwood flooring! They are located in Chapmanville, WV and Summersville, WV yet they travel all over the Tri-State area installing hardwood. I am not exaggerating when I say that the beauty of the finished product took my breath away! One suggestion: If you have pets, see if you can get them out of the house during installation hours as the pounding is necessarily very loud and disturbing to the animals! Another suggestion: Try not to get so anxious to move any furniture back in place without considering how you may scratch the floor! I made a big mistake of pushing a box spring across the floor and the hard plastic piece on the edge scratched my new floor. I was ashamed and embarrassed for my stupidity but they didn't chastise me and one of the men said he would fix it for me. (free of charge) I felt the price was reasonable. We had the living room and family room last year for about $5,000 and loved it so much that we asked them back again for the rest of the house. We spent about $17,000 for the rest of the house but the amount of square footage and the work involved was massive!

FAQ
How does Bailey Floor Sanding determine pricing for hardwood sanding and refinishing?
We assess pricing based on the square footage of the area, the condition of the existing hardwood floors, and any necessary repairs or additional services like staining. Carpet work pricing factors in the type of carpet, removal of old flooring if needed, and installation complexity. Free estimates are provided after an on-site evaluation to ensure accuracy and transparency for your project.
Are you licensed and insured for flooring work?
Bailey Floor Sanding carries the required licensing and insurance to perform hardwood flooring services and carpet contracting safely. This coverage protects your property and our team from any incidents during sanding, refinishing, repairs, installation, or carpet projects. We maintain up-to-date documentation to meet industry standards in West Virginia.
Does Bailey Floor Sanding handle carpet installation and hardwood floor repairs?
We manage full carpet contracting services including installation to refresh your spaces, alongside hardwood flooring from sanding and refinishing to repairs and new installations. Our scope covers addressing wear on older homes, such as trim adjustments if impacted by the work. This hands-on approach ensures smooth, lasting results tailored to your needs.
What is the typical timeline and scheduling process for your flooring projects?
We schedule projects based on your availability and provide clear arrival windows, typically completing sanding and refinishing in a few days depending on the floor size and drying times. Hardwood installation may require acclimation periods for materials to adjust to your home's humidity before proceeding. Factors like repairs or carpet volume can adjust timelines, and we communicate updates promptly to minimize disruptions.
How does Bailey Floor Sanding handle cleanup and debris after floor sanding or carpet installation?
We remove all dust, debris, and waste from sanding, refinishing, repairs, or carpet work, leaving your home clean and ready for use. Protective measures during the process contain dust, and we dispose of old materials responsibly. This thorough after-care step ensures your space is smooth and habitable without lingering mess.
Why is your professional approach to floor sanding and refinishing safer and better than DIY?
Our method uses specialized equipment to evenly sand hardwood without gouging or uneven finishes that DIY tools often cause, preventing costly damage. We apply finishes correctly to withstand everyday wear, unlike amateur attempts that may lead to premature failure or health risks from improper dust control. Professionals ensure subfloor prep and material acclimation, extending floor life far beyond self-done jobs.
