Garen arrived on schedule and was quick and thorough with our inspection and cleaning. I appreciate the time he took to discuss the condition of our chimney and what repairs it would need in the next few years. 5 months agoGaren has served us very well as our chimney sweep for years. He doesn't oversell any parts or services, is polite and tidy, happily answers questions, punctual, will inform you of concerns he finds that don't benefit his business such as safety or damage to the structure. I can't see inside the chimney flue so I don't know the condition he leaves it in but everything about what I can see points to professionalism. I therefore assume that he leaves it thoroughly clean. His wife Barb who schedules and other office related jobs is helpful and efficient. Highly recommended company. -

6 months agoI had a very disappointing experience with Matchbox Chimney Sweeps, primarily because of the office staff. The woman who answered my calls was super disrespectful and completely dismissive of my concerns as a customer. We didn't even get to schedule a home visit for a sweep because the interaction was so unpleasant. Due to this, we decided not to proceed with their services. If you value respectful and attentive customer service, I would avoid Matchbox Chimney Sweeps. EDIT REPLY: It seems this company still struggles with understanding customer feedback, just as I mentioned in my original review. Based on Matchbox's reply to my original review, here's my message: My experience with their customer service was disappointing, and it appears they have their own issues with licensing and what not which I never once complained about. Instead of taking responsibility, apologizing, and moving forward, they respond with irrelevant arguments that miss the point entirely. This only reinforces the kind of company they are and how they handle their mistakes. Matchbox was the first company we called, but after that negative experience, we went with a different business in Hillsboro that did an excellent job with our cleaning.
