1 year agoDO NOT USE PLANT HEALTH SOLUTIONS & PEST CONTROL!!! Since posting this I filed a complaint with the BBB. This is the reply I just received: "Thank you for contacting your Better Business Bureau. "The complaint was closed as "unresolved" as the business failed to provide a subsequent response after several requests were made to do so. The complaint will remain published on the business profile for a three-year reporting period." He ignored them just like he ignores me. "Licensed and Insured" means nothing if the owner and his insurance company choose to ignore you!! Sadly what could have been resolved easily is now going to have to go to Small Claims Court. DO NOT USE PLANT HEALTH SOLUTIONS & PEST CONTROL!!! I hired PHS for weed control, fertilization and pest control. The first year was great. I praised and recommended them to several people. Last year turned into a nightmare. The great tech he had the year before had quit and the new tech caused considerable damage to my Hibiscus, Korean Spice Viburnum, Boston Ivy, Blue Rug Juniper. The tech sprayed the Hibiscus just as they were coming up but some survived. A tech sprayed them again as they were getting ready to bloom. The tech first lied about spraying them the second time abut finally confessed he had. The owner admitted his tech had sprayed the Hibiscus and acknowledged other spray damage. He was going to take care of it in the Spring when we could see what was permanent damage and what wasn't He has since reneged on that promise. I am sorry the owner did not make the effort to work this out like he said he would. I am even sorrier I paid for this mess. I spent $150.00 for an inspection and report from an ASCA Arborists last Fall. I took samples to both NW SEED & PET and the Spokane County Master Gardners WSU Extension and they came to the same conclusion Round-Up or like product which is used for weed control. Professional's that came to my house explained particle drift and vapor drift, high temperatures or even a slight breeze. Vapor drift is when a pesticide volatilizes or evaporates into the atmosphere and moves off site and damages non-target plants. There is a pattern of damaged healthy plants right next to where he sprayed for weeds. The spray caused the damage. He did not get experts or even take samples for testing. He had every opportunity to do this. I gave him permission to take samples but he chose not to. He removed a lot of dead debris from the Junipers and the dead Hibiscus Stalks last Summer right when it was all happening. That was his perfect chance to get expert opinions or testing. He hauled hauled away a lot of dead samples. His suggestion for replacing plants and covering dead spots did not make sense. Since neither of us knew the best solution to make this look better I suggested we hire an expert to provide us with the best solution. I had reported it to my insurance and they said the damage is not covered under my homeowners but his insurance should cover it. I asked him if he was licensed, bonded and insured. He said yes but has refused to give me any of that information. That is when his cooperation ended. He now trying to blame the damage junipers on bugs or disease. One of the reasons we used the Juniper is because it is resistant to bugs or disease "the Spruce" author David Beaulieu: Common Pests and Plant Diseases: "Blue rug juniper is not bothered by serious insect or disease problems." The pictures are just a small example of damage that was done. Concrete retaining wall shows before/after pictures of Boston Ivy. Korean Spice Viburnum red/green bush one sprayed the other one not. Healthy Hibiscus and dead Hibiscus after he sprayed them. Crawling Rug Juniper sprayed or caught in drift. -

1 year agoPHS is my #1 recommendation for lawn care and pest control. Greg has been in this business for a very long time and he knows what he's doing. We just had someone from PHS out to do a spider spray this morning and I was so impressed by how thorough and careful they were in the job they were doing. 5 star service!

How does PHS Weed & Pest Control determine pricing for pest control and lawn care services?
We base pricing on the size of your property, the type and severity of the pest or weed issue, and whether it's a one-time treatment or ongoing plan. Fair pricing reflects our focus on effective, long-term solutions like organic fertilization combined with pest control. Contact us for a custom quote tailored to your yard's needs in Spokane.

PHS Weed & Pest Control employs certified technicians who are licensed and insured to handle pest and wildlife control safely. We tackle spider infestations, severe ant problems, rodents such as mice, and stubborn weeds including clover and dandelions. Our services cover everything from quick spider sprays to organic lawn fertilization that eliminates weeds while keeping grass green. Technicians use equipped trucks for targeted treatments on properties in Spokane.
What is the typical timeline and arrival window for your services?
We schedule services with clear arrival windows and aim for prompt response times, often addressing issues quickly as seen in customer experiences with pest problems resolved after moving homes. Initial visits involve thorough inspections, while follow-ups maintain results on organic lawn plans. Expect consistent communication to set expectations for your appointment.
