2 months agoWe've used CHS Garage Door Repair for our past repairs and it has always been a quick, pleasant process. This most recent time our garage door wouldn't open beyond a couple feet. My husband heard a loud banging sound right before it happened and suspected a broken spring. We contacted Adam, the owner, and he got back to us in a timely manner. He and his team diagnosed the repair the next day and gave us transparent pros and cons on how to proceed. We decided to replace the spring with a different brand, and an associate was able to replace the broken spring in less than 2 hours at our most convenient day and time. Adam even made sure to inspect the work himself before taking final payment. Always on time, great communication, and fair pricing. CHS is our absolute go-to for any garage door issues! -

3 months agoEdit: the supervisor dropped by and fixed the issue properly and refunded the service fee. "The diagnosis changed only after it was pointed out that their company installed the parts, shifting responsibility away from their earlier work." CHS Garage & Repair serviced my garage door openers less than two years ago, including installing the coils/springs. Recently, one door began failing to open consistently, so I called them back. During the service visit, the technician disconnected the door and showed me that it would not stay halfway open, indicating the door was not balanced. He initially said this was due to incorrect coils and they had to be replaced. After I mentioned that their company installed those coils, he made a phone call and then changed the explanation, saying the coils were fine and the issue was due to not having yearly tune-ups. I was charged $170 for a "tune-up" that consisted of lubricating parts, tightening bolts, and increasing the opener force. The door imbalance was not corrected, and increasing motor force does not fix an unbalanced door. I was disappointed by the inconsistent diagnosis and being charged for work that did not resolve the problem. I recommend getting a second opinion if you experience similar issues.
