1 month agoHired them since it was on short notice and they are local. They arrived on time and were nice, but the move took way longer than it should have. When they arrived they said it would take 1-2 hours but it ended up being twice as long. I eventually told them to just unload what they had at the new place and I would do the rest myself. It ended up taking them almost 4hr for moving one building over and I ended up having to finish moving the rest of the furniture myself. Thry also charged me for for driving 30 min to my place even though their office is located 5 min away. I won't be hiring them again. Update: I spoke to the owner but we couldn't come to an agreement because he wanted me to delete the review or change it to five stars. Since then I have not heard back even after they said they would get bacl to me. Overall this experience has been very unprofessional. -

10 months agoI called with a last minute emergency move completely exhausted after my other moving option fell through. I thought I could handle it but had to call in reinforcements. The Alto team arrived within the time window as expected and blew me away. They only had hours notice. Definitely recommend them for anyone in a bind. They move, pack and unloaded very quickly, professionally and I am very happy with their service and will recommend anyone to them in the future. If you're not in a time crunch like I was, I recommend scheduling in advance and going over your specific needs as it helps them bring the right equipment for a better executed move. As they do charge by the hour I would also recommend planning your move with traffic and congestion in mind if you're wanting to save money. What I thought would be a three day moving nightmare was resolved within seven hours. John, Quin and Hayden. Thank you for saving me. I owe you big time. You guys alleviated a massive amount of stress out of my life. -

1 year agoALTO MOVING: SIMPLY ... WOW! I just made the most amazing discovery! I was looking for a moving company to help with the unusual project of moving heavy organ pipes from the balcony of our church to a storage locker. I called Alto because they are a small, local company, and I liked the diversity shown in the photo on their website. What a great choice! I found their crew to be smart, strong, innovative, respectful and cheerful. And, as an extra bonus, they're interested in music (hence the name "Alto"), so the organ move was right up their alley. "Boss-man" John T kindly saved me several hundred dollars by recognizing that I only needed a crew of two for my move, rather than four, as I had thought. TERRIFIC! Can't wait to use Alto again for my next move!

FAQ
How does Alto Moving determine pricing for residential and office moves?
We base pricing on the volume of items, distance of the move, and any special handling needs like heavy items such as piano pipes or power tools. Contact us for a custom quote tailored to your local or long-distance job, including last-minute rushes or storage transfers. This approach ensures transparency so you know the full cost upfront.
Are you licensed and insured for moving services?
Alto Moving holds the required licenses and insurances to handle residential and office moves safely in the Seattle area. Our team meets all safety qualifications for tasks from apartments to heavy equipment. This coverage protects your belongings during loading, transport, and unloading.
Does Alto Moving handle specialty items like organ pipes or power tools?
We manage residential and office moves including heavy and delicate items such as organ pipes, power tools, and other specialized equipment. Our crew uses proper techniques to secure and transport these without damage, as shown in our work with church balconies and storage units. Prepare by identifying such items ahead for efficient planning.
What should I expect for arrival times and scheduling with you?
We arrive exactly when scheduled, with clear communication throughout the process for local or long-distance moves. Our team shows up on time even for emergency jobs, minimizing wait times. Schedule with at least a day's notice when possible, though we accommodate last-minute needs.
Does Alto Moving clean up after the moving job is done?
We protect your home and belongings during the move, leaving spaces tidy by removing any debris from packing materials or straps. Our crew ensures floors and driveways are cleared after loading trucks, as seen in our Seattle residential jobs. Walk through with us at the end to confirm everything meets your standards.
Why is hiring you safer than doing a DIY move for heavy items?
Our professional approach includes trained crews who secure heavy items like pianos or power tools properly, avoiding injury risks common in DIY efforts. We use specialized equipment and trucks to prevent damage during transport, unlike personal vehicles that lack padding or ramps. This method saves time and reduces stress compared to handling everything yourself.
