10 months agoHad a great experience getting all of our carpets replaced for our upstairs bedrooms and covered patio. We were working over the phone as we were literally moving across country during planning. We worked with Craig, Christa, Veronica and Javier, all were wonderful! -

1 year agoLove the carpet and it looks nice, but that wasn't the issue from the work that was done in February. I paid another $225 to have the loose floor boards secured, mainly up the stairs and master bedroom. I left them in the home to do the work due to a doctor's appointment. When i returned, they were gone. My stairs remained horrible sounding as well as the bedroom floor. The exact way it sounded before they started. They did absolutely nothing for that. I had to clean out several vents that had large amounts of carpet pieces in them. We had to get someone else to place the t-molds that tacks the carpet down between the doorways that separates the carpet from vinyl floor and they left my sliding doors off the closet in one of the bedrooms. Their claim was that the carpet was too high to put them back and the doors would need to be shaved/cut. They was going to charge me ANOTHER fee to come back and put doors up that they took down. The entire time I thought I was going to need someone to cut my doors. All this time I thought that was the case, but TODAY I put the closet doors up MYSELF! The wheels for the track are adjustable and not much adjustment was needed. Why wouldn't they know that?? Annoying and way too much money spent to not be left with such things and not be satisfied. -

FAQ
How does Carpet Hut by McDrake determine pricing for carpet and flooring installations?
We base pricing on accurate measurements of your space, the type of flooring material selected such as carpet, hardwood, or luxury vinyl plank, and the installation method required. Factors like room size, subfloor condition, and any necessary seam placements also influence the final cost. Contact us for a custom quote after an in-home assessment to ensure transparency.
Are you licensed and insured for handyman flooring services?
Carpet Hut by McDrake carries full licensing and insurance coverage for all handyman installations, including residential and commercial projects. Our family-owned team uses qualified labor to handle everything from carpet to tile safely. This setup protects your property during the entire process.
Does Carpet Hut by McDrake handle installations for area rugs, hardwood, vinyl plank, and tile?
We stock and install a wide range including area rugs, bamboo, hardwood, cork, laminate, luxury vinyl plank, ceramic, porcelain tile, vinyl remnants, and both commercial and residential carpet. Our handyman services cover full installations for homes and businesses at our showroom on 5719 Arrowhead Dr in Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Browse options in person to find what fits your space.
What is the typical timeline and scheduling process for your flooring projects?
We start by visiting your home to measure and discuss options, often arranging this promptly based on availability. Installations for standard projects complete within a few days, with our team coordinating the exact date in advance. Larger spaces or rentals may extend slightly, but we keep you informed throughout.
What cleanup does Carpet Hut by McDrake provide after flooring installation?
Our installers remove old flooring and debris, then leave the work area clean and tidy for your immediate use. We handle all waste disposal responsibly during the process. This ensures your home or business returns to normal quickly after completion.
Why is professional installation by you safer and better than DIY for carpet and flooring?
Professional methods use precise measurements, proper tools, and techniques like stretch-in or glue-down to ensure durability and avoid issues like seams pulling or uneven floors common in DIY attempts. We coordinate subfloor preparation, moisture checks, and ventilation for long-term performance that DIY often misses. This approach prevents costly repairs and provides better comfort, insulation, and noise reduction.
