1 month agoI hired Pipeline Pools, Inc to install a new liner in my in-ground pool at the recommendation of the company that cleans my pool, Southside Pools and Spas. I am very disappointed and feel that I was taken advantage of as someone who has little knowledge about pools, as we bought this house last year and have never owned a pool. But that's why I called a "professional". The initial meeting was good, and I paid half ($1600) up front by check for the work to be done. They said that the work would be done no later than May 1st, and I told them, "the sooner, the better." They came out on or around March 25 (I don't remember exactly which day, but it was within a day of this), and by the time I got home from work at about 1:30 that day, they already had the old liner out and the new liner in (they had just started that morning). They still had quite a bit of work to do, but it was nice and blue and new. I thought, "Wow, that was fast!" Maybe a little too fast, now I'm seeing. It was filled with water, and by Friday we were ready to leave for Spring Break for a trip. I spoke to my regular pool guy (from Southside Pools), and he said he should have everything balanced and the pool "open" before we got home from our trip. We arrived home the next weekend to a sparkly new pool liner, and the kids actually swam in it that Sunday, even though the water was still a bit chilly. The next day, Monday, April13, I decided to go turn on the pool light after dark and check it out with the light on. Much to my chagrin, there were all sorts of horrible shadows on the pool bottom and slopes in the deep end where you could tell that the ground underneath wasn't level. I'm not just talking about a little unevenness. I'm talking about divets as big as a dinner plate and unlevel ridges along the sides. My pool guy was skeptical; until he came out after dark to see it. He said, "yeah, that is pretty bad". I contacted Pipeline Pools, Inc, and after a few days, the owner of the company, Josh Hastie, sent an "agreement of repair" that stated the following: "Pipeline Pools will agree to pull liner back and repair noted spots in walls with the understanding that payment in full is due the day OF repair. Our contractual obligation has already been fulfilled. This is a good will gesture on our part in an attempt to make you satisfied. As we have noted any spots in floors/walls that become apparent with the pool light but not in normal daylight is a common occurrence at the age of your pool with a foundation consisting of sand cement. It is also further understood that over time the pool foundation will deteriorate as a result of overfill, leaks, ground water and/or surface water issues. These said repairs will be completed no later than June 15, 2015." I responded on April 23, 2015 to the agreement of repair with the following email: Hi Josh, I would like the agreement of repair reworded to say that you will receive payment once the pool is full and can be seen at night with the light on. I understand that there may be some imperfections, but since the intitial workmanship was done poorly, I want to make sure it is repaired in a satisfactory manner before I make the payment. Sincerely, GM Today, April 26, 2015, he responded with this: Mrs. M, Our work in accordance of the contract has been completed. The previous good will gesture for us to come back in and do further work, which we did not deem necessary, was not accepted by you; therefore, it has been rescinded. Imperfections which you admit cannot be seen in daylight are not something that is wrong with our workmanship. The liner is water tight without any wrinkles and fits perfectly. Pool bottoms such as yours that are composed of a sand cement mixture are impossible to get completely smooth when examined under the shining of a pool light at night. Our contract clearly states that we use "1 bag of vermiculite as needed", in which case was done. The original deadline for the remaining balance on the contract of $1600 + $75 for new stainless steel light ring was due on the completion date, which was April 1. I have extended that deadline to May 1 as a courtesy to you. After that time, we will regrettably be seeking further options of collecting. Josh Hastie Pipeline Pools Inc. I am very frustrated that I will be paying $3275 for a job that I feel is unacceptable. I emailed Josh Hastie with the request to amend the "agreement of repair" at the advice of another pool company, (Aegean Pools), to state that he would receive payment after I saw the finished work at night with the light on. Unfortunately, Josh rescinded the "agreement of repair" and I'm stuck with paying for the pool liner as-is, unless I want to take legal action. I would stay away from this pool company. I trusted the guy who cleans my pool on his recommendation. Unfortunately, the only reviews I could find for Pipeline Pools, Inc were reviews for cleaning pools. The owner is very young and immature, and although I am not a pool professional, I feel that he is not experienced enough to do big jobs, such as install liners. Cleaning pools is one thing, but a new liner...well, that's another. If anything else comes of this, I will update this review. See full review -

1 month agoThey arrive on time, even a little early. It's a great feeling to know that Pipeline Pools is going to handle all my needs with closing the pool and opening in the spring. They take my ladders down to the shed and pack them away. Always asking if there is more they can do for me. They are polite and stay up to date on pool needs and chemicals. Couldn't ask for a better team. Takes all my worries away. I can count on them. -
