1 year ago5 stars!! I almost spent $600 on a slab of quartz for my island at a different place, and with these guys I got the same thing for only $400. The customer service and knowledge that Scotty & Dean have are also what made this experience so great. They answered all my questions, were patient with me while I was indecisive, and offered suggestions and advice towards what stone would best suit my needs. I'm so happy with how lovely our island slab turned out and I am eager to use them again in the future for the rest of my countertops! These guys are the best. -

3 years agoabsolutely horrible company from the lack of professionalism to their installers damaging your property - and then they will not fix the damages. And after they committed to fixing them. they left lose razor blades on the floor, broke floor tiles, cut an electrical cord when they pinched it between the counter and base cabinets, left garbage just thrown on the floor, didn't caulk and did not encapsulate the area when they had to cut and polish the countertop so that dust went everywhere in my house including the ductwork. Cannot believe a company that performs as such is in business. But I am sure it's all about the money for these people... Don't become another victim to the A#$ Holes.. -

3 years agoI happened upon IFPC by chance looking for something for a work project. They had a slab yard in the back of their building and I had asked if they sold to the public. To my surprise, they did. Venturing around back with Dena, we began to look around at all the remnant pieces. There, right before I had given up, was the SLAB OF MY DREAMS. I'm sure for it sheer unique-ness, it sat waiting for its big debut. I had looked high and low for a super wild piece (I'm talking travelling to about 8 slab yards) and I had the finally found the most STUNNING slab. It was a smooth journey from the start.....quoting, in home measurements being taken, a trip back after they pulled out the slab to verify it really was the right one all the way down to timely install crew and a wonderfully executed installation. I really enjoyed working with this company. I will return for my kitchen when the time comes. I am IN AWE of my new bathroom counter, as are my guests that get to enjoy the unique experience of my 1/2 bath. Thank you Dena, LJ, Carlos and the team. You were all wonderful. -

3 years agoThere were multiple issues with my granite countertop order, from the product to the customer service. First it was not measured correctly, so they had to come back and install days later. The granite was cracked in multiple places (was told it was due to transit mishap...) so they filled the seams. The second granite slab was delivered to the wrong address. I sent an email to the company about the issues that went unanswered for a week. Jonathan (manager) then reached out to me to reconcile with a discounted price. I got the final invoice with incorrect dates and pricing, which I was given the reason that they are short staffed. I understand short staffing, the entire nation is short staffed, but damaged products, incorrect deliveries, erroneous invoicing, and lack of communication is undesirable. Jonathan and the two gentlemen that did the final installation did a great job, but unfortunately having single points of failures and mistakes throughout the process leaves a bad impression.

FAQ
How does International Flooring and Protective Coatings determine pricing for granite, quartz, and stone surface installations?
We base pricing on the specific material selected, such as granite or quartz slabs, along with the measurements and scope of fabrication and installation required for your project. Walk-in buyers at our slab yard in Norfolk, VA, can select from available stock, which often provides better value than other suppliers. Custom quotes are prepared after reviewing your needs to ensure transparency on total costs.
Are you licensed and insured for flooring and handyman services?
International Flooring and Protective Coatings carries the necessary licensing and insurance to handle sales, fabrication, and installation of granite, quartz, and stone surfaces. This coverage protects your property during all phases of the work, including any subcontractors involved. Professionals verify these details before committing to projects with us.
Does International Flooring and Protective Coatings handle floor preparation and protective coatings for stone surface projects?
We manage complete projects including floor preparation using industrial machines and application of protective coatings to ensure proper adhesion and longevity of granite, quartz, and stone installations. Our process starts with thorough surface prep visible in our equipment like roller machines for even coating. This specialized approach suits both residential and contractor needs.
What is your typical timeline and scheduling process for installations?
We work closely with contractors and homeowners to accommodate tight schedules, providing clear timelines based on material availability from our slab yard and project size. Arrival windows are confirmed in advance, with flexibility to fit your needs while delivering consistent results. Delays are minimized through our experience handling ongoing professional demands.
What cleanup and after-care does International Flooring and Protective Coatings provide after installation?
Our installation teams handle all debris removal and site cleanup, leaving your space clean and ready for use following granite, quartz, or stone surface work. We address any property concerns promptly to maintain satisfaction, drawing from our long-term relationships with repeat professionals. Proper after-care instructions are shared to protect your new surfaces.
Why is hiring you for granite and quartz fabrication and installation safer and better than attempting DIY?
Professional fabrication and installation by our team uses specialized equipment for precise cutting and fitting of heavy stone slabs, reducing risks of breakage or injury common in DIY efforts. We ensure surfaces are properly prepared and sealed for durability, avoiding issues like uneven adhesion that homeowners often face without experience. This methodical process delivers year-after-year reliability without the hazards of handling tools and materials alone.
