3 months agoAt 12:30 a.m on Saturday night temp was 20 degrees outside, my furnace quit working. I went down the list Google brought up, A-1 was 4th, and the only company that could or would come before 7:30 a.m. Aaron, was there in 20 minutes like he said, and honored as well that he would only charge me the service call fee, if it was a quick fix, like he suspected by my description over the phone. I think they live up to their name A -1!! -

4 months agoA1 Heating and Air has been absolutely top notch for years. Every technician I've worked with-Mark, Aaron, Thomas, and Hunter-has been professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely great to work with. They show up on time, explain everything clearly, and always make sure the job is done right. I've consistently received reliable, high-quality service and peace of mind knowing my system is in good hands. I wouldn't hesitate to have them back out again and will continue to recommend A1 Heating and Air to friends and family throughout Northern Colorado. -

4 months agoFirst appointment was a no show. Second appointment was a month later., one hour late. Forgot his drill, so I loaned him one. Third appointment a month later to fix spotty work, showed up on time and attempted to charge another 200 dollars., I made him pick up his trash from last month and told him to get out of my house. Very unprofessional. -

FAQ
How does A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning Service determine pricing for HVAC work?
We provide detailed written estimates that break down equipment costs, labor, permits, materials, and any additional services. Our quotes include specific model numbers and a clear scope of work so you understand exactly what's included and what isn't. We recommend getting multiple estimates to compare, and we're happy to discuss financing options if needed to fit your budget.
Are you licensed and insured to work on my heating and cooling system?
A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning Service maintains all required licensing, bonding, and insurance coverage to protect you and your home. Our technicians carry EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling, which is required nationwide. We comply with local permitting requirements and inspections, and we can provide proof of insurance and our license number upon request.
What types of HVAC systems does A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning Service install and repair?
We handle furnace and air conditioning installations, heat pump systems, mini-split units, and commercial rooftop equipment. Our team works with quality manufacturers like Lennox and can help you choose between different system types based on your home's needs and Virginia's climate. Whether you need a complete system replacement or repairs to existing equipment, we have the expertise to get the job done right.
How quickly can you schedule an appointment, and what should I expect on installation day?
A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning Service prioritizes fast response times-we've scheduled same-day service visits when urgent repairs are needed. On installation day, our team arrives on schedule, uses drop cloths and protective coverings to keep your home clean, and handles all debris removal. We'll walk you through system operation, maintenance requirements, and warranty registration before we leave.
Does A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning Service perform load calculations before recommending a system size?
Yes, we conduct proper Manual J load calculations that account for your home's square footage, insulation levels, window placement, local climate, and airflow patterns. This ensures the equipment we recommend is sized correctly for your specific needs rather than using outdated rule-of-thumb methods. We also inspect your ductwork, measure static pressure, and evaluate airflow to confirm your system will perform efficiently once installed.
Why should I hire a professional instead of attempting HVAC work myself?
HVAC systems are complex and require specialized tools, certifications, and knowledge to install and maintain safely. Improper installation can reduce efficiency, shorten equipment life, void warranties, and create safety hazards with electrical connections and refrigerant handling. We follow industry best practices for refrigerant charge, line set sizing, condensate management, and thermostat setup-details that directly impact your comfort and utility bills for years to come.
