1 year agoOur Furnace stopped putting out heat last night. I called GNL heating and cooling at 8:30am today on Presidents Day. It's 1pm and Tarl has already been here and replaced the part. The Furnace is 20+ years old and I appreciated Tarl being honest and fixing it instead of trying to sell me a new Furnace. I will call GNL for all my heating and cooling problems in the future -

1 year agoHands down the BEST hospitality and genuine CARE I've ever had. I have NEVER ever had this type of experience with an HVAC company. Tarl went above and beyond to make sure he did everything possible before just telling me that I needed a new unit. After the first bid from a company telling me it would be 12k because a whole new unit was needed, to finally finding someone that is HAPPY and genuinely excited to find the issue for only around $300. Don't settle for anything less than or trust those other companies. TARL... you are the man! I'm SO grateful. Thank you for caring!!! -

4 years agoI want to express gratitude for Gary who helped me evaluate a quote from a competitor and get service when he didn't have time on his schedule. Gary is an owner, and he was kind, friendly, helpful, and knew his HVAC stuff. I would give him my business if he had not been booked out for a week. Give him a call! -

FAQ
How does GNL Heating And Cooling determine pricing for HVAC work?
We provide detailed written estimates that break down equipment costs, labor, permits, materials, and any additional services before work begins. This transparency helps you understand exactly what you're paying for and prevents surprise charges later. Our estimates include specific equipment model numbers and a clear scope of work so you know what's included and what isn't. If you're interested in financing options or utility rebates, we can discuss those during the estimate process.
Are you licensed and insured to perform HVAC work?
GNL Heating And Cooling maintains the proper licensing, bonding, and insurance required to operate in Utah and handle refrigerant work safely. We carry workers' compensation and general liability insurance to protect your home and property during installation and repair. Our technicians are EPA 608 certified, which is the federal requirement for anyone handling refrigerant. You can request proof of our credentials and insurance coverage at any time.
Can GNL Heating And Cooling install mini-split systems and other specialized equipment?
We handle a full range of HVAC installations including furnaces, air conditioning units, and mini-split systems like the Fujitsu units shown in our portfolio. Our experience with multiple equipment types and manufacturers means we can recommend the right system for your home's specific needs. Before installation, we conduct a thorough evaluation of your home's layout, insulation, ductwork, and climate to ensure proper sizing and performance. Whether you need a standard system or a more advanced solution, we have the expertise to install it correctly.
What should I expect for timing when I schedule a repair or installation?
GNL Heating And Cooling prioritizes fast response times, including same-day service for urgent repairs and holiday availability. When you call for an estimate, we schedule a time that works for your schedule and arrive as promised. For installations, we communicate the expected timeline from deposit through completion and walk you through what to expect on installation day. We also handle post-installation testing to verify that your system is operating at peak performance before we leave.
How does GNL Heating And Cooling protect my home during installation or repair work?
We treat your home with respect by using drop cloths and protective coverings during all work to minimize mess and protect your floors and furniture. Our technicians follow a professional cleanup process to remove debris and leave your space clean after the job is complete. We also walk you through system operation, maintenance requirements, and warranty registration so you're fully informed about your new equipment. Your home's condition and your peace of mind are priorities throughout the entire process.
Why is a proper load calculation important before installing a new HVAC system?
A load calculation determines the exact capacity your system needs based on your home's specific characteristics, including square footage, insulation levels, window placement, air leakage, and local climate. Without this calculation, contractors may install equipment that's too small (causing it to run constantly and fail to reach comfortable temperatures) or too large (wasting energy and driving up utility bills). We perform a Manual J load calculation to ensure your equipment is sized correctly for your home's unique needs. Proper sizing directly impacts your comfort, energy efficiency, and how long your system lasts.
