2 years agoI would like to express my concern over an alarming experience I had on the freeway involving a company vehicle. The driver was behaving recklessly, cutting off an ambulance and brake checking it. This type of behavior not only endangers the driver, the ambulance crew, their patients, and other road users, but it also reflects poorly on the company itself. Companies should be doing their due diligence in ensuring that their drivers adhere to traffic regulations and maintain a safe driving culture. The actions of employees, especially when driving a company vehicle, directly represent the business and its values. After witnessing this incident, I am disappointed to say that I have no intention of using this company's services, nor would I recommend it to others. It is crucial for businesses to take responsibility for the actions of their employees and prioritize the safety of everyone on the road. I hope the company will take this feedback to heart and take appropriate measures to prevent similar incidents in the future. -

5 years agoMy ac/furnace was very old and I called Cool Concepts back in October 2020 because it was overheating. Beto came out and repaired it for very reasonable price. Then during the freezing weather last month (Feb 2021) it stopped heating. Which was okay because I didn't have electricity to run it anyway (eye roll). I called & made an appointment and Beto found that it needed to be replaced, which was no surprise to me. I figured it would need to be replaced soon since it was 20+ years old. I was quoted what I thought was a reasonable price and they installed it all two days later. Beto is very nice and explains what needs to be repaired and or/installed and then explained what needs to be done to maintain. He also installed a new programmable thermostat and an outdoor electrical box for the ac unit. After installing the unit he did not leave until he knew everything was working, turning on and off like it should. It has been over two weeks now and it has been working perfectly. I definitely recommend Cool Concepts. -

5 years ago100% call them if you need service. The best company I have dealt with in regard to my OLD AC. Never any pressure to replace the unit, when we all know it's getting time. -

6 years agoOne of your drivers came within inches of my vehicle while he cut me on off the highway and then slammed on his brakes all because I wasn't going fast enough for him. I called to report the driver to the manager and when I asked the manager for his information he hung up on me. I have the license plate of the driver as well as his and his supervisor's first names (Jason and Norm). Norm was completely trying to disregard the incident so I am now reporting driver Jason to the authorities and providing them with that vehicle's license plate. This behavior is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. I would not have reported the driver to the authorities if the manager was even a little bit sincere. I will never use this company and will make sure that no one I know uses it.

FAQ
Does Cool Concepts A/C & Heating offer free estimates for HVAC service and installation?
We provide detailed quotes based on the specific needs of your heating and air conditioning system, including factors like unit size, labor, and any required materials. Contact us to schedule an on-site evaluation where we assess your setup and deliver a transparent breakdown of costs. This approach ensures you understand exactly what you're paying for without hidden fees.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work?
Cool Concepts A/C & Heating carries all necessary licensing and insurance required for HVAC contracting in San Antonio, including coverage for general liability and workers' compensation. We meet local regulations and EPA standards for handling refrigerants to protect your property and our team. Always request proof of our credentials before any service begins.
Does Cool Concepts A/C & Heating handle air filter changes and outdoor condenser unit installations?
We service and maintain existing systems, which includes changing air filters in ceiling vents and installing new outdoor HVAC condenser units. Our technicians use proper tools to ensure filters fit correctly for optimal airflow and install condensers according to manufacturer specifications. These tasks help maintain efficiency and prevent common issues like restricted airflow or improper sizing.
What is your typical timeline for scheduling and completing HVAC service calls?
Cool Concepts A/C & Heating schedules appointments with clear arrival windows, usually within a 2-hour block, to fit your availability. Routine maintenance or filter changes often wrap up in under an hour, while new installations may take 4-8 hours depending on system complexity. We communicate any delays upfront and aim to restore comfort quickly for San Antonio homes.
Does Cool Concepts A/C & Heating clean up after servicing or installing HVAC units?
We leave your home as clean as we found it by using drop cloths, removing all debris like old filters or packaging, and vacuuming work areas. Technicians dispose of waste responsibly, including any removed parts from outdoor units or indoor servicing. This practice minimizes disruption and keeps your space safe and tidy post-service.
Why is hiring you for HVAC maintenance safer and more effective than doing it yourself?
Our professional approach includes comprehensive inspections of ductwork, refrigerant levels, and electrical connections that DIY efforts often miss, preventing costly breakdowns. We follow industry standards for tasks like charging systems correctly and testing airflow, which reduces risks like electrical hazards or inefficient operation. Homeowners avoid voiding manufacturer warranties and gain peace of mind from verified, code-compliant work.
