3 years agoNot only did this company ignore us by not answering their phones, but Fidelity Life Home Warranty wanted us to repay the $75 fee for the technician returning, The technician (Joe), cut the incorrect line letting all of the Freon out of our AC. I also requested he trace the line because there was some water damage in our son's room. This did not happen resulting in the garage and the bedroom having even more water damage than previously. He claimed that he would return with another pound of Freon to place into our AC, which also did not happen. We have two huskies and the house has been as hot as 95 degrees everyday. This is not an emergency though. It has been 18 days since we have had a working AC. -

3 years agoI want to say upfront that ANY review that talks about this company with regards to. Home Warranty Service Request it is NOT this company. A simple search of the Home Service contractor and phone number will show you that. The names are nearly identical but it is NOT this company. I, too, had a non working HVAC and First American provided RAA Group dba (doing business as) Lone Star Mechanical. Joe is Lone Star Mechanical CONTRACTOR and is not a DBA. So that's right off the bat for all these bad reviews impacting a great, local, family owned small business. Also, the DBA company has Amanda who entertains all the service calls, Joe handles his own and doesn't have an office secretary. All that being said, I too got ZERO response from LS Mechnical and Google it to see if I got a different number and I did so I called it. I got Joe. He told me upfront it was the wrong company, he does not work with any Home Warranty and it would be a 150 service call for him to come out. I decided I would rather have him than LS Mehancial who can't even return a call. When I tell you, this great guy Joe, came to my home on his Saturday at 8am...he diagnosed my AC and gave me a full explanation as to how it all works and to educate me on my system. Long story short, two times my warranty company failed me and both times Joe and his team came to my home within 24 hours and fixed it. And Joe still to this day entertains all my texts with questions and concerns. Fantastic company. I sure wish people would do some research before hurting a great company's 30 year reputation. Couldn't say enough great things about them.

FAQ
Does Lone Star Mechanical offer free estimates for HVAC repairs?
We provide straight-up quotes with no hidden fees, including the service call when we arrive. Our pricing covers the work needed based on what we find during the inspection, such as furnace maintenance or AC condenser servicing. Homeowners can expect a clear breakdown upfront to understand the total cost before any work begins.
Are you licensed and insured?
Lone Star Mechanical carries the necessary licensing and insurance required for HVAC work in El Paso, TX, including handling refrigerants safely. We follow local permitting requirements and provide proof upon request to ensure compliance. This protects your property and gives you peace of mind during repairs or installations.
Does Lone Star Mechanical handle refrigeration and roofing services?
We manage HVAC repairs, refrigeration units, and roofing projects with our hands-on technicians. Our team performs tasks like servicing outdoor AC condensers, installing ductwork, and furnace maintenance as seen in our work photos. These services cover both residential fixes and new construction needs without involvement from home warranties.
What is your typical response time and arrival window?
Lone Star Mechanical responds promptly to calls, with technicians like Joe arriving fast to assess the issue. We set clear scheduling expectations and stick to agreed arrival windows to minimize wait times. This approach avoids the runaround and gets your HVAC or refrigeration system back online quickly.
What does Lone Star Mechanical do with debris and waste after service?
We clean up all debris from HVAC repairs, ductwork installations, or roofing jobs, leaving your home as we found it. Technicians remove old parts, insulation scraps, and any waste generated during the work. Proper disposal ensures your space stays tidy and safe after we finish.
Why is hiring you better than attempting a DIY HVAC fix?
Our professional approach uses proper tools and techniques for tasks like refrigerant handling and ductwork installation, which DIY efforts often mishandle and lead to bigger problems. We diagnose issues accurately without cutting corners, ensuring systems run efficiently and safely long-term. Attempting fixes yourself risks voiding warranties, electrical hazards, or inefficient performance that hikes energy bills.
