10 years agoPaul from Savage met with me at my parents home to give a bid on replacing a old driveway that I was paying for. Paul offered some great suggestions and offered an immediate bid that was very detailed; bid was a little higher than 3 other bids I had received from other reputable contractors. Paul was willing to come down in price a little, but not to the lowest bid. I knew Savage had a good reputation and I needed the driveway installed within a week to avoid some predicted very cold temperatures or I would elect to wait until spring to ensure quality concrete conditions. Paul moved some things around on their schedule to slide this relatively smaller job in to the needed timeline. Work started and completed as promised and in a professional manner - finish work was excellent! The only small issue experienced was night temps fell much lower than expected or forecasted on the first night of the cement pour. Blankets were needed and were supplied; blankets supplied had a lot of holes and tears - very poor. Overall, I would rate Savage as an "A", but after multiple requests for a paid receipt (after sending them payment), they haven't returned my multiple requests (email, phone and text) for a paid receipt for the work done? It is possible the company takes this time of year off (off-season), but they still should return messages in the off-season. Again, I'm pleased with quality and timeliness of work done. If I do received a receipt in the next couple of weeks, I'll provide updated review to reflect rate Savage as an "A". -

12 years agoSavage Const. was very professional and responsive to various unique requirements on this job. They stayed precisely on schedule and finished on time. The finishers, foreman and manager were all friendly, hard workers. I got exactly what I wanted at a very fair price (not the low bid, but very close). Some of their suggested changes to my original plan resulted in an obvious improvement in the final product. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to a friend. -

12 years agoReplaced the concrete entrance to our driveway. We were desperate as my daughter's reception was approaching and we had another contractor fall through. Worked with Paul who initially didn't think they could complete the work, but kept in touch with us and called as soon as they had an opening. Did beautiful work, followed up to make sure we were satisfied, then charged a very fair price below what I thought it would cost. Could have really charged anything they wanted given our circumstances. Extremely impressed with every aspect of their work.
