I'd say they are ran like a corporation. Not a service company. They did a full install for me and it was "OK". I had to have them out several times afterwards to fix a few things. Thermostat restarting every 30 seconds because they put a drain switch in wrong and was res trying the thermostat. The condensate drain pump being set in a bad spot and leaking... the party set out for my outside unit was set on uneven ground and it cracked... honestly half this stuff and the next fifteen things they did wrong I just fixed myself and never complained about. I called them for warranty work and the guy that showed up was stoned out of his mind. He couldn't find my indoor unit ....he said "I can't figure out what this code is and wouldn't worry about it" for a service code on my thermostat that was under warranty.

They sent a guy named Ross out to repair my unit and I didn't feel comfortable with him being inside with my kids home. He acted really sketchy and I noticed that I had several things that were damaged after he left. He never came back to finish the work and I had to get somebody else to come fix it.

I was having issues with my condenser fan coming on after I had replaced it, I noticed a Malone truck across the street and called to see if they could come over after that job. The technician was very friendly, however it turns out I just had to leave the power turned on to the unit for 5 minutes because of the defrost timer. We turned the unit on, timed it, and sure enough it kicked on without any issues. Unfortunately I still had to pay the $85 service fee, but I'll just take that as a lesson learned.

Purchased a brand new split unit and it broke 6 times within the first two weeks. They did extend my warranty and came out each time. I decided to then buy a new main unit from them. It's only a couple months old and has stopped working twice in the coldest nights. No one answers the "emergency line". Absolutely awful

FAQ

Does Malone Heat & Air, Inc. offer free estimates for HVAC services?

We provide detailed quotes based on the specific needs of your heating or air conditioning system, such as furnace repairs, AC installations, or full maintenance assessments. Pricing factors in the scope of work, parts required, and labor to ensure your home stays comfortable through Chattanooga's seasons. Contact us for a custom evaluation tailored to your situation.

Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work?

Malone Heat & Air, Inc. carries the necessary licensing, bonding, and insurance required for HVAC contracting in the Chattanooga area, including handling refrigerants per EPA standards. Our coverage includes general liability and workers' compensation to protect your property during service. This setup ensures compliance with local codes and safeguards against any job-related issues.

Does Malone Heat & Air, Inc. handle installation and service of Trane and Carrier HVAC units?

We install and service brands like Trane and Carrier, including outdoor units, indoor furnaces, air handlers, and mini-split AC systems as shown in our work. Our crew performs thorough inspections and maintenance on these systems to address issues like blower problems or temperature discrepancies. This covers furnace fixes, AC installs, and ductwork-related tasks common in Chattanooga homes.

What is your typical timeline and arrival window for service calls?

We respond promptly to service requests, often calling back shortly after your contact to confirm a visit the next day when possible. Technicians like Jason or Chad arrive within the scheduled window, working diligently to diagnose and resolve issues such as furnace blower failures or overheating homes. Expect clear communication on when to anticipate our arrival based on your call time.

Does Malone Heat & Air, Inc. clean up after HVAC installations and repairs?

We leave your home clean and tidy after every job, removing old units, debris from ductwork, or installation waste. Our process includes using protective measures like drop cloths during furnace or AC work to minimize mess. This ensures your space, whether indoors or around outdoor units next to brick walls, is returned to its original condition.

Why is hiring you safer and better than attempting HVAC repairs as a DIY project?

Professional HVAC work requires specialized tools and knowledge to safely handle refrigerants, electrical components, and duct systems without risking leaks, shocks, or inefficiency. Our technicians follow industry standards for proper sizing, airflow testing, and code-compliant installations that prevent common DIY errors like improper motor replacements or poor unit performance. This approach extends equipment life and avoids costly fixes from mishandled attempts.
