Yes, I recommend this pro. He had a very bad rating on Angie's List, and I had already used him, so I told him about it, and told him that he needs to get his stuff together. The only He did an excellent job. He knew his business, and he was very very good about everything that he did. His prices were very good. He has been good about calling back. The only thing is that he is not as dependable as he could be, I had a hard time getting him out here to start the job. Once he started, he was very good, but getting to that point and time. As far as his work ethic, and quality of his work was very good. He did beautiful tile work. He was very good about the cost, and his workmanship was very good.

He did the job he said he would do, but it was not the reason for the leak. He said he would fix the mailbox that was knocked over by a co-worker when leaving our residence but would not answer our calls after that time. He is a very good contractor, but I do not feel he is reliable or has the clients best interest as priority.

Per a written agreement, there were 3 payment dates, and each time he was nearly foaming at the mouth to get paid. Yeah, I got it, everyone wants to be paid, but this guy was over the top. In parallel, I'd spotted a couple spots where he'd missed on the undersiding of some trim. He said he'd be back to do that touch-up, but once he received his final payment, he simply stopped answering my calls and never returned my calls or a certified letter I mailed to him. Butz is the classic grab-and-run kind of guy who does the minimum, and once paid, is running off, never to be heard from again. Would not recommend him to anyone.

Yes, I recommend this pro. Mr. Butz responded quickly, gave a fair estimate, and was able to schedule the service very soon. He came with two extra men. They worked efficiently as a team and completed the task in the 4-hours as estimated. They were very professional and thorough. The completed job was excellent. I will definitely call on Scott's Handyman service for future tasks.

Yes, I recommend this pro. I called Mr. Butz on a Monday, he returned my call and came by the next day. He gave me an estimate, the date he would start and the date he would complete the job. True to his word he arrived with his crew and started the job. He scraped, washed and quickly painted. I thought I needed a new storm door, however he repaired the one I had and painted it. That saved me about $200.00. Scott also fixed some loose brick on the front step. The job was completed by noon of the second day.

FAQ

How does Scott's Handy Man and tree service determine pricing for tree removal or handyman jobs?

We assess the job on-site to consider factors like tree size, location, accessibility, and any handyman tasks involved, then provide a custom quote. This ensures the price reflects the actual work needed, such as emergency removal of a fallen tree or door repairs. Homeowners can expect transparent pricing without hidden fees once we inspect the situation.

Are you licensed and insured for tree service and handyman work?

Scott's Handy Man and tree service carries the necessary insurance to protect your property during tree removal and handyman projects like thermostat installation or door mending. Our crew follows local regulations for safe operations in Rock Hill, SC. Always verify coverage details during your initial consultation for peace of mind.

Does Scott's Handy Man and tree service handle emergency tree removal for fallen trees on driveways or roofs?

We manage emergency tree removals, including large uprooted trees across driveways or those fallen onto roofs after storms. Our team also covers handyman fixes like thermostat repairs and door adjustments alongside tree work. This combined expertise suits local homes needing quick, practical solutions.

What is your typical timeline and arrival window for scheduling tree service or handyman jobs?

We return calls promptly and aim to visit the next day for estimates, setting clear start and completion dates based on job scope. Our crew arrives on time with the full team to work efficiently, as seen in quick scheduling for tree removals. Expect realistic timelines communicated upfront to fit your needs.

What does Scott's Handy Man and tree service do with debris and cleanup after tree removal?

We clear all tree logs, branches, and debris from the site, leaving your property clean and smooth after removal jobs. For storm-damaged trees on roofs or driveways, our team handles waste removal as part of the service. This includes hauling away freshly cut logs to prevent hazards around your home.

Why is hiring you for tree removal safer than attempting DIY, especially near homes?

Our hands-on know-how and team approach handle risks like trees near structures, using proper equipment to avoid property damage or injury. DIY lacks the tools and experience for safe cuts that affect tree stability long-term, plus insurance protection if issues arise. Professionals ensure precise work, from emergency removals to handyman tasks, minimizing liability for homeowners.
