2 months agoFor years during loss of power, I powered our home with a portable generator. I've been working out of town more often so it was concerns about being able to connect while I'm away. We decided to look into a Generac. I talked with George and he came out to inspect and perform a load calculation. He told me exactly what I needed to power my whole home. He sent his crew out the next week and in a very professional manner they installed my new Generac. We went several months and it performed its weekly maintenance run. Well 2026 brought ice one week and snow the next. My neighborhood lost power both weeks! Our Generac did not skip a beat. It did it's job powering our house the duration of both power outages. I must say, this is one of the best investments I've ever made. Thanks to George and AC Mechanical for a job well done. -

1 year agoMy wife and I lived in Florida for more than 25 years and over that time had four standby generators installed after long power disruptions due to hurricanes made them a necessity. We recently moved to a home in South Carolina with a well and septic system, so we felt another generator was required. Owner of AC Mechanical, George Moore responded quickly to our request for an estimate, he answered all our questions and provided a low turnkey quote unlike other contractors contacted who would have subcontracted the gas connection portion of the work. George did require a substantial up front deposit, but for us that was offset by a lead time that was shorter than other contractors we contacted. The large crew that arrived on the day of installation was extremely courteous and clearly had the process down to a science. This installation was by far the smoothest of the five generators we have now installed, the entire process was completed in 6 or 7 hours, except for the final gas connection and start-up! The gas line passed inspection the following day and another smaller crew returned a few days later to make the final gas connection. There was a minor glitch when attempting startup, but George's son came out quickly and resolved the problem by replacing a part. He did a great job of explaining operation and helping to set up the app for monitoring the generator remotely on our cell phones. Since this local family-owned business also does electrical, plumbing and AC work I know we will use them in the future after this very satisfactory experience.
