Called Palmetto Fence multiple times, attempting to get a quote for commercial fence repair. Much like another reviewer, during the second call, the person I spoke to on the other end was profane, stated that he would have killed me if he saw me, told me to f-off and hung up. You might ask what I am leaving out of this story. During the first call, the same individual stated that they do a lot of work for the entity I work for and that he would squeeze me in for a quote. I told him that I would need to provide access to the area of concern, but that was clearly ignored because the apparent reason for his anger was that he could not gain access to the site when he just showed up unannounced.

I cannot give a star because the phone experience was so bad. The person had the right number but called the wrong number. Late to call that they would not show up for the meeting planned over a week ago. Used foul language on the phone. I guess they have enough business they can talk this way to people they don't know. I would not call unless you want to be berated over the phone for trying to get a quote.

FAQ

How does Palmetto Fence Co determine pricing for fence installation and repairs?

We provide detailed written estimates that break down material costs, labor, and any additional fees for site preparation or debris removal. Pricing depends on factors like the type of fence material you choose, the size of your project, labor requirements, and any special features such as gates. We recommend requesting an estimate so you have a clear understanding of costs before work begins, and we're transparent about any potential extra charges that might arise from unexpected site conditions.

Are you licensed and insured to perform fence work in North Charleston?

Palmetto Fence Co carries the proper licensing and insurance required to perform fence installation and repair work in our service area. This protects you from liability in case of accidents, property damage, or other issues during the project. Always verify that your contractor maintains current licenses and carries both liability insurance and worker's compensation coverage before signing a contract.

What types of fencing projects does Palmetto Fence Co handle?

We handle a full range of fencing projects for both residential and commercial properties, including new installations, repairs, and complete fence replacements. Our experience covers chain-link fencing, metal fencing, security fencing, and other fence types. Whether you need a simple repair to a damaged section or a comprehensive new fence system, our crew has the expertise to assess your needs and recommend the best solution for your property.

How long does a typical fence installation take, and what should I expect for scheduling?

Palmetto Fence Co completes projects on the timeline we agree to upfront, and we keep you informed throughout the process. The duration of your fence installation depends on the project size, fence type, and site conditions. When you request an estimate, we provide a realistic timeline that includes when work will begin and how long installation is expected to take, so you can plan accordingly and understand what might cause any delays.

Does Palmetto Fence Co handle debris removal and site cleanup after installation?

We manage the cleanup and removal of waste materials generated during your fence project. Our estimate includes details about site preparation and debris removal so there are no surprises about what's included in the final cost. After installation is complete, we leave your property clean and ready to enjoy your new fence without additional cleanup work on your part.

Why should I hire a professional fence contractor instead of attempting installation myself?

Professional installation ensures your fence is properly aligned, securely installed, and built to last. We have the expertise to assess your property's soil conditions, understand local building codes and permit requirements, and use proper installation techniques that prevent common issues like instability or misalignment. A skilled contractor also handles the logistical and legal aspects-such as obtaining necessary permits and ensuring your fence complies with local regulations-which protects your investment and saves you time and potential costly mistakes.
