7 years agoWe are well pleased with Edgewater Energy and Kevin. They handled everything - the county permits, installation of new roof and solar panels and even communication with our electric company, SCE&G. The whole process from start to finish was great. If you're thinking about installing solar panels or just need more information, we highly recommend this company. -

7 years agoI bought a house that had an Edwater Energy system already on it, I drive an electric car and needed a larger installation. Jim and the team took care of everything we needed. They even handled surprise paperwork from SCE&G that popped up over a year after the upgraded install. They also did all the interacting with the HOA on my behalf saving that inconvenience. -

7 years agoEdgewater Energy is a great company for solar energy in this area. I've my panel on since 2013 and love the results. Couldn't ask for a better company and I have referred them to others. When I didn't understand something they were right there on the spot. Great Business Company. -

7 years agoI have called three times. I have given my information to their operators three times. My name, address, phone number, the problem etc. Have I received a call back from their "on call electrician" yet? Nope. This is the company that originally installed the electrical in my townhome 3.5 years ago. They must know they did a shoddy job and are not calling me back. Luckily, I got in touch with Mr. Sparky who fixed the issue within a couple days but let me know how unimpressed they are with the job Edgewater did. This company is a scam and a joke! Please do not use them. -

7 years agoThe original installation went well but the permitting and inspection have dragged on for over 8 months and we are unable to use the system during this entire time. We were notified of the lack of permitting and SCGE approval after the system was installed over 2 years ago. Very frustrated by the lack of communication. Would not recommend.

FAQ
How does Edgewater Energy Services determine pricing for solar panel installations and energy upgrades?
We assess each home's specific needs, including the size of the system required for solar panels, attic insulation, hybrid water heaters, or backup generators, to provide a custom quote. Factors like your current energy usage, roof condition, and local permitting requirements influence the final cost. Contact us for a detailed estimate tailored to your property.
Do you offer free estimates for handyman energy services?
Edgewater Energy Services starts with a thorough evaluation of your home to understand its unique energy profile before quoting any work. Our pricing reflects the scope of services, from materials to labor for installations like panels and insulation. We ensure transparency by breaking down all costs upfront.
Does Edgewater Energy Services handle permitting and inspections for solar and energy system installations?
We manage the entire process, including obtaining county permits, coordinating with your electric company, and handling inspections, so you avoid the hassle. Our team takes care of communication with utilities like SCE&G to get your system operational. This comprehensive approach ensures compliance and smooth activation.
Are you licensed and insured for handyman work involving solar panels and generators?
We employ skilled teams experienced in energy solutions since 2013, ensuring all installations meet local standards. Our process includes full handling of permits and inspections to guarantee safety and functionality. Homeowners can rely on our established service record in North Charleston for quality outcomes.
What is the typical timeline for Edgewater Energy Services to complete a solar panel or insulation project?
Projects vary by scope, but we aim for efficient timelines while prioritizing proper installation and required approvals like permitting and inspections. Most systems, such as solar panels or attic insulation, activate soon after completion once inspections pass. Delays can occur with permitting, which we actively manage to minimize wait times.
Why is hiring you better than doing DIY energy upgrades like installing solar panels or insulation?
Professional installation ensures systems like solar panels, hybrid water heaters, and generators perform optimally through precise assessment of your home's needs. We handle complex steps including permitting, utility coordination, and inspections that DIY often overlooks, avoiding costly errors or delays. This approach delivers measurable energy savings without the risks of improper setup.
