1 week agoI am thoroughly impressed with not only the product, but the customer service Matt provides. I have a small area behind my townhome that has a 10x10 deck that sits ~ 10 yards from my back door. Matt was able to creatively install an electric fence from my back patio and around the deck area so little Frenchie is safely contained. Additionally, I'm super impressed by the indoor invisible barriers, too. One area to keep said Frenchie out of cat's area (litter box and food) and two areas to keep cats safely inside. All work wonderfully, and Matt was great with training us all. Matt also has been awesome with his customer service - I've reached out several times after install with a few questions and Matt has been quick to respond and quick to resolve. It's been a great experience and I highly recommend! -

4 weeks agoWe had an outstanding experience with Matt, just as we have from the very beginning. He installed our wireless fence several years ago, and anytime we've needed help, he's always been quick to respond. After four years, we needed our batteries replaced, and my husband accidentally damaged the caps while trying to remove them. We called Matt, and he was at our house within an hour to take care of everything. Matt is consistently professional, proficient, and always on time. His customer service is truly exceptional. Highly recommend! -

FAQ
How much does a hidden dog fence from DogWatch of Greater Charleston cost, and do you provide free estimates?
Pricing for hidden dog fences depends on the size of the area to cover, layout complexity, and custom features like excluding garden beds or pools. We start with a free in-home consultation to assess your property and provide a custom quote tailored to your needs. This ensures you understand the full value, including professional installation and training.
Are you licensed and insured for hidden fence installations?
DogWatch of Greater Charleston carries full licensing and insurance as required for fencing contractors in the Greater Charleston area. Our long-term local presence since 1990 demonstrates our commitment to professional standards. Homeowners can verify our credentials during the initial consultation for added peace of mind.
Does DogWatch of Greater Charleston handle installation and training for hidden dog fences?
We manage the complete process, from burying the boundary wire a few inches underground to setting up the FM radio transmitter with lightning protection. Personalized training follows installation, using flags, warning signals, and corrections so each dog learns the boundaries quickly. This covers areas from Mount Pleasant to Edisto Island, adapting to various yard shapes.
What is the typical timeline and scheduling process for your hidden fence installations?
We schedule installations after an initial consultation, aiming to complete the boundary wire burial and transmitter setup in one day for most properties. Training sessions start right after, spanning a few days with flags in place to guide your dog. Flexible arrival windows accommodate your availability, with prompt responses even years later for any adjustments.
What happens after DogWatch of Greater Charleston installs a hidden dog fence-do you handle cleanup and ongoing support?
We leave your yard neat by burying wires 3-6 inches deep where possible and sealing any driveway cuts flush with a thin, durable compound. Ongoing support includes quick responses for battery replacements, wire breaks, or system checks, even years after installation. Our FM Safelink batteries last years longer than competitors, minimizing maintenance needs.
Why is professional hidden fence installation better than DIY kits?
Professional setups use higher-quality wire and transmitters with safety features like lightning protection, ensuring reliable performance across driveways, streams, or irregular yards. We provide hands-on training for you and your dog, which DIY lacks, leading to faster learning and fewer escapes. Post-install support for breaks or tweaks saves time and avoids common pitfalls like improper depth or signal issues.
