4 months agoCompany continually unresponsive on getting initial contract set up - if this is how communication goes as a potential customer, I can't imagine how poor things would be once they have my money. Detail: Recently purchased this home, previous owner used HomeTeam for Termite bait stations, so I figured i'd give them a shot and attempt to resume service with HomeTeam. Timeline: 1/7: Called in to establish contact, set up walk-through with one of their sales/account managers for the following day. 1/8: Account manger came over and discussed termite/pest options, unable to generate contract due to technical error on their tablet/ipad. Agreed to follow up next day from office to finalize based on discussed coverage options/costs. 1/9: Didn't hear anything from HomeTeam 1/14: Still hadn't heard back from HomeTeam, called in to inquire and was told the account manager I had worked with was on PTO and would call me the next day. 1/15: Received call back from account manager who seemed confused as to what the problem was. I informed him that we never touched base on the contract from the previous week. He checked his system and realized he never sent anything, and started working on it right then. 15-20 minutes later he said the system wouldn't allow him to generate the contract until we had an inspection of the existing termite bait stations and the home in general. Scheduled for 1/16. 1/16: Different guy from HomeTeam came and inspected property and existing bait stations, he seemed thorough and communicated well. He said he would relay the info back to the sales team so they could set up the contract. Later that day I speak with the account manager again, and he sends me a contract to sign. The cost on the contract is significantly different than what we had discussed during his first visit on 1/8, and he had options selected on the contract that my home doesn't support. It looked like the contract should be for a different property entirely. I mentioned these things to him and he agreed to make changes and update the costs to what we had discussed on 1/7. He agreed to have these changes over on the new contract by 1/19. 1/28 - still haven't heard back from the account manager or received an updated contract from HomeTeam. I reached out to the company I used for termite and pest at my prior home and set up a new customer visit with them. They were on site the next day and completed the contract during the initial visit. -

4 months agoWhile the company is good, my service technician in Mt Pleasant, SC was fantastic. Mikey went above and beyond every visit. He was also there within a day or two at most if I so much as saw a bug. Mikey's is friendly, knowledgeable and reliable. If you use Home team in that area, be sure to request Mikey.

FAQ
How does HomeTeam Pest Defense determine pricing for pest control services?
We provide free estimates for residential customers, which can often be given over the phone based on your description of the pest problem. If an in-person inspection is needed to assess the full scope of the infestation, there is an inspection fee that we waive if you decide to move forward with our services. Our pricing reflects the size of your property, the type of pests involved, and the treatment methods required to solve your specific problem.
Are you licensed and insured to perform pest control work?
HomeTeam Pest Defense maintains the proper licensing and insurance required to deliver pest control services safely and professionally. Our technicians are trained to follow all local and state regulations, and we can provide proof of our credentials upon request. This ensures that any work performed on your property meets industry standards and protects you in case of any accidents or damages during treatment.
Does HomeTeam Pest Defense handle both indoor and outdoor pest treatments?
We handle both interior and exterior pest control treatments tailored to your needs. Our services cover rodents, insects, and other nuisances common to Central Florida properties, and we treat areas including foundations, landscaping, shrubs, and interior spaces. Whether you need ongoing seasonal protection or targeted treatment for a specific problem, we customize our approach based on where pests are entering or active in your home or business.
How quickly can you schedule a pest control service visit?
HomeTeam Pest Defense works to accommodate your schedule with flexible appointment times. Our team strives to respond promptly to service requests, and we can discuss availability when you contact us for your free estimate. The initial service visit typically takes about 45 minutes, as our technicians perform a thorough inspection, identify problem areas, and develop a treatment plan specific to your property.
What should I expect HomeTeam Pest Defense to do after treating my property?
Our technicians conduct a complete inspection before and during treatment to identify all pest entry points and activity areas. We focus on both eliminating current infestations and taking preventive measures to keep pests from returning. After treatment, we leave your property clean and ready to use, and we're available for follow-up visits if you notice any pest activity between scheduled services.
Why is professional pest control safer and more effective than handling it yourself?
We use EPA-approved products and follow strict safety protocols to minimize exposure to you, your family, and your pets while effectively eliminating pests. Professional pest control targets the root cause of infestations by identifying entry points, understanding pest lifecycles, and applying treatments strategically rather than relying on over-the-counter solutions. Our experience with Central Florida pests means we know which methods work best for your specific situation and can prevent costly damage that DIY approaches often miss.
