8 months agoI had a Trane HVAC installed back in 2014 by AC Heating and Air. Unfortunately, we had quite a few electrical issues that resulted in multiple tripped breakers, blown fuses, issues with the thermostat and the heat(3rd stage)never really working correctly. After about 5 years of that, AC techs said it was the wiring in the house and completely disengaged the third stage and suggested that we have an electrician out to install different breakers for the HVAC they installed. So this past week, the system had a leak in the coil and we had AC Heat and Air service the system(8/24/25) while we we debated what to do. We opted to replace the system. I got 3 quotes including one from AC heating and air (I am a real estate broker and always suggest getting multiple quotes). I ended up going with a different company because they were priced better, had better financing offers and a better warranty. They looked at the older system and said that there was nothing wrong with our wiring and that all of our issues were likely from a faulty heat kit installation or faulty heat kit (AC Heating and Air did the install). Lastly, we paid for our annual service contract 5/30/25 which covers two services per year. Being as we had a new unit installed by another company which provided a service contract with the new unit, I called AC Heating and Air to see if I could get a partial refund for the unused service and they declined. This is just my own experiencs so draw your own conclusions

FAQ
How does AC Heating and Air Conditioning Services determine pricing for HVAC replacements and installations?
We provide custom quotes based on a thorough evaluation of your home, including square footage, insulation levels, existing ductwork, and your specific cooling or heating needs. Our estimates are itemized and include equipment specifications, labor, permits, and any additional materials needed for the job. We recommend getting your quote in writing so you understand exactly what's included and can avoid surprises on your final bill.
Are you licensed and insured to perform HVAC work in Charleston?
AC Heating and Air Conditioning Services maintains the proper licensing and insurance required to operate in Charleston, SC. This protects you from liability and ensures our work meets state and local code requirements. When you contact us, we're happy to provide proof of our credentials and answer any questions about our certifications.
Does AC Heating and Air Conditioning Services handle geothermal system installations and rebuilds?
Yes, we specialize in geothermal system rebuilds and installations alongside traditional AC replacements and split system work. Our experience with geothermal systems means we understand the unique requirements of these efficient systems and can help you maximize their performance. If you've inherited a geothermal system or are considering an upgrade, we can evaluate and rebuild it to operate at its best.
What should I expect for scheduling and how quickly can you arrive?
AC Heating and Air Conditioning Services prioritizes quick response times for both urgent repairs and scheduled installations. We work to get you on our calendar promptly and communicate clearly about arrival windows so you're not left waiting. For specific availability and timeline details for your project, contact us directly and we'll confirm scheduling that works for your home.
How does AC Heating and Air Conditioning Services handle cleanup after installation?
We take pride in leaving your home clean and undisturbed after our work is complete. Our team uses drop cloths to protect your floors and furniture, and we remove all debris and materials from the installation site. Customers consistently note that we leave the work area cleaner than when we arrived, whether we're installing ductwork in your attic or replacing an outdoor condenser unit.
Why should I hire a professional instead of attempting HVAC work myself?
HVAC systems require specialized knowledge and tools that go beyond typical DIY projects. Improper installation can reduce efficiency, shorten equipment life, and create safety hazards like incorrect refrigerant charge or electrical issues. We conduct load calculations to size equipment correctly, inspect and test ductwork for proper airflow, and verify system performance after installation to ensure everything operates safely and efficiently for years to come.
