Arrived on time when promised. Prepared areas and kept house clean covering carpeted and tiled areas throughout the house. Set tile first day and grouted the next day. Turned out great! One tile had a big flaw or gouge in it. Tad, the owner, sent his installer back and replaced the tile.

Tad came in 1 day to look at the work we needed done. He was very professional and friendly. We scheduled the work and he came promptly at the time he said he would. He finished all 4 items in the same day. The tile work looked like it did before the tile was removed. The grout color matched perfectly. We no longer had a big ugly hole in the wall above the bathtub. The utility and kitchen sinks were repaired perfectly and are nice and tight now without a leak. The bathtub drain was beautiful, shiny metal. It's the kind that you push down on the round disc above the drain. The disc went partially down but it didn't engage completely which allowed water to drain. I called Tad and he came right over and tightened the drain and it has worked perfectly since. I have some other tile work I want him to do in a few months. Thank you Tad!

The realtor with whom we worked gave us Tad Jordan's name and number (owner of Top Notch Tile and Stone) because she herself had work done in her home and had recommended him to several of her other clients over the past several years. Everyone seemed very pleased. He was very quick to respond to our call and came out to listen to what we wanted done, provided excellent suggestions and recommendations, and a fair estimate of the costs. He was professional and personable, a pleasure to deal with. Tad is a general contractor and efficiently and professionally managed and oversaw all of the work as it was being performed. With regard to the tile, he was able to order the same tile (mfg and color) but when the workmen began to lay the tile to extend the original foyer to include the hallways and entrance to the great room, it was clear that the new boxes contained more tiles that were darker than were in the original. When I mentioned that I was concerned that there was a distinction between the old and new, Tad, without hesitation, instructed the men to correct the situation to my satisfaction. One of the men sorted through the tile boxes and brought in darker tiles which I placed over a number of the lighter tiles in the original areas until everything looked balanced. They removed those light tiles with the darker ones, as well as removed all the original grout in the entire foyer so that there was no chance that the grout areas would not match. All the work was executed in a professional, expert manner and all of the workers were pleasant, considerate and extremely diligent. Tad did not require any payment prior to beginning the work. Once work was underway, I did pay 3 minimal amounts for the crown molding material, the paint and a deposit on the laminate, but did not have to make any additional payments until the work was completed. In addition to performing all the requested work, when I mentioned to him that I wanted to have the grout in the kitchen and the two bedrooms that still were carpeted cleaned, Tad provided a recommendation for someone to take care of those items. I contracted with that person and I was very pleased with his work as well. Upon completion of the work all old materials (old carpet, padding, tiles and grout that was removed, etc.) were removed and the premises were clean and neat.

FAQ

Does Top Notch tile & stone offer free estimates for carpet installation?

We determine pricing based on accurate measurements of your space, material costs, and the scope of work including removal of old flooring if needed. Contact us for a custom quote tailored to your home or office layout. This approach ensures you receive a fair price that reflects the precise fit required for professional results.

Does Top Notch tile & stone handle tile installation and old flooring removal?

We manage the full process from measuring spaces and prepping floors to precise cutting, seaming, and installation of carpet, along with tile work. Our services also include removing old flooring to make transitions seamless for homes and offices. This comprehensive scope ensures every project aligns perfectly with your layout without loose ends.

What is your typical arrival window and timeline for carpet jobs?

We schedule promptly after an initial visit to assess the work, arriving exactly at the promised time. Projects like completing multiple items in one day or multi-day tile sets show our efficient timelines. Expect clear communication on when we start and finish to fit your needs.

How does Top Notch tile & stone handle cleanup after installation?

We prepare areas thoroughly by covering carpeted and tiled spaces throughout the house to keep everything clean during the job. At the end, we dispose of excess materials and debris from cuts or removals. Your home is left neat and ready for immediate use.

Why is your professional carpet installation better than DIY?

Our hands-on approach uses specialized techniques for measuring, prepping, cutting, seaming, and stretching to eliminate wrinkles and ensure durability, which DIY lacks without proper tools. Professionals avoid common errors like visible seams or uneven fits that lead to costly fixes. Hiring us saves time and prevents subfloor damage from improper handling.
