1 month agoBerkshire Heating and Cooling came to my home and diagnosed the problem quickly. Joe and his staff set us up with a new Daikin furnace. The total install took less than 3 hours. The guys were professional, polite and did a great job with the install I would not hesitate to use them again for any heating or air conditioning needs. I highly recommend Berkshire Heating and Cooling -

2 months agoI can't say enough good things about Berkshire. They were able to get out to my property within a day and quickly diagnose and fix a boiler system issue-something that's surprisingly hard to find skilled techs for these days. The technician was extremely detailed, explained everything clearly, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. I especially appreciated the phone call updates, which made a big difference. I'm an out-of-state landlord, and Berkshire was fantastic to work with even though I wasn't physically at the property. Communication was clear, professional, and trustworthy from start to finish. If you're an out-of-state investor or landlord looking for someone you can truly rely on-especially for boiler systems-I highly recommend Berkshire. They made a stressful situation easy and handled my property like it was their own. -

2 months agoI've worked with Berkshire, and especially Joe, to service my HVAC unit at home and to service our steam boiler and split units at my work. All units have needed some extensive work which Joe did with no problem. Joe communicated well, was responsive, explained his plan to address the issues, and reasonably priced. I have recommended him to anyone who needs their HVAC serviced.

FAQ
Does Berkshire Heating and Cooling offer free estimates for HVAC repairs and installations?
We provide detailed written estimates based on a thorough evaluation of your HVAC system, including furnaces, boilers, and air conditioning units. Pricing accounts for equipment needs, labor, and any specific factors like ductwork condition or system sizing. Contact us to schedule an on-site assessment for an accurate quote tailored to your home.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured for HVAC work?
Berkshire Heating and Cooling carries all necessary licensing, bonding, and insurance required for HVAC contracting in Pittsburgh, PA, including handling refrigerants per EPA standards. Our coverage includes general liability and workers' compensation to protect your property and ours during repairs, maintenance, or installations. We comply with local permitting and inspection requirements for safe, code-compliant work.
Does Berkshire Heating and Cooling handle boiler installations and repairs for homes and businesses?
We manage full boiler installations, repairs, and maintenance, as well as furnaces, air conditioning systems, and ductwork setups for residential and commercial properties. Our team evaluates the entire system, including gas lines and airflow, to ensure proper performance through Pennsylvania's seasons. Photos of our recent installations show complete indoor furnace units and outdoor condensers integrated seamlessly.
What is your typical timeline for scheduling and completing HVAC service calls?
We aim for prompt scheduling, often sourcing parts and completing urgent repairs like condenser replacements within a week, even for commercial coolers. Installation timelines depend on permitting and equipment availability, with clear communication on arrival windows and expected completion from deposit to final testing. Our 18 years of experience help us coordinate efficiently to minimize disruption to your routine.
What cleanup and after-care does Berkshire Heating and Cooling provide after HVAC installations?
We leave your home clean by using drop cloths, shoe covers, and removing all debris, old equipment, and packaging materials after furnace, boiler, or AC installations. Post-installation, we test system performance including airflow, refrigerant charge, and static pressure, then walk you through operation and basic maintenance. Warranty registrations and service plans are handled to support long-term reliability.
Why is hiring you for HVAC installations safer and better than attempting DIY?
Professional installation follows strict standards for refrigerant handling, electrical connections, line set sizing, and condensate drainage to code, preventing hazards like leaks or fires that DIY often causes. We perform load calculations and duct inspections to size systems correctly for your home's insulation, layout, and climate, avoiding inefficiencies or premature failures from improper setups. This ensures optimal comfort, energy savings, and equipment longevity without the risks of unqualified work.
