8 months agoWorking with Dan and his team was everything my husband and I were looking for in a contractor. Dan is professional, has excellent communication (both via email and phone,) is clear and direct about expectations, and is always punctual. We had a vision for our previously-loved floors and Dan and his team brought them back to life. And what a nice guy! We absolutely recommend Keystone Floor Works and will reach out again if we have any flooring needs. Thanks, Dan! - Cris -

10 months agoI highly recommend coming here if you're looking for an affordable, high quality area rug. There are so many colors, sizes, and textures to choose from. The owner, Dan, was very informative and helpful. I plan to go back anytime I need a rug! I also enjoyed the antiques he had! There were many gems there. -

1 year agoHelped a family member choose a floor refinisher. He did not choose Keystone, though I voiced my opinion that I thought he'd be the best one. Alas, his estimate was the highest, so that was a factor. Not happy with the guy he chose, who turned out to be very difficult to work with. Thinking that it might have been worth the extra money to hire Keystone, but we'll never know. -

2 years agoI contacted Keystone regarding some concerns I had about installation of new hardwood floors by a general contractor as part of a whole house renovation we'd recently done. Dan was extremely professional and responsive. He is very honest. He came to our home and said the installation by the GC looked proper and there wasn't much else to do without huge expense which was unnecessary. I will definitely turn to him with future flooring needs! -

2 years agoVery happy with their work. Wish I had hired them to do past projects but now I know. They fixed a problem which other companies said would require much more work and did a significantly better job.

FAQ
Does Keystone Floor Works charge for estimates?
We provide free on-site estimates for all residential and commercial flooring projects. Our team will visit your location to inspect the space, evaluate your needs, and provide a detailed quote with no obligation. This allows us to give you accurate pricing based on your specific situation rather than generic estimates over the phone.
Are you licensed and insured?
Keystone Floor Works is BBB Accredited with an A+ rating and has been in business since 1986, demonstrating our commitment to professional standards and customer satisfaction. We operate as a family-owned corporation and maintain the trust of both residential and commercial clients throughout the Philadelphia area. For specific licensing and insurance details, we recommend contacting us directly during your estimate consultation.
What types of flooring does Keystone Floor Works install and repair?
We specialize in hardwood flooring installation, refinishing, and repair, along with carpet, vinyl, cork, and bamboo options. Our expertise includes everything from modern hardwood installations to historic floor restorations in older Philadelphia homes. Whether you need a complete floor replacement, targeted repairs, or refinishing to restore worn surfaces, we handle both residential and commercial projects.
How long does a typical flooring installation take?
Keystone Floor Works estimates that most residential installations take one to three days, though the timeline depends on the type of flooring and the size of your project. We'll provide a detailed schedule after evaluating your space during the estimate visit. For larger commercial projects or complex restorations, we'll give you a specific timeframe so you can plan accordingly.
What should I expect regarding cleanup after Keystone Floor Works completes my project?
We handle the installation and refinishing process professionally, leaving your space clean and ready to use. Our team removes debris and waste materials as part of the service. We'll also provide you with specific care instructions for your new flooring type to help you maintain your investment and extend its lifespan.
Why should I hire a professional instead of attempting flooring work myself?
Professional installation ensures proper subfloor preparation, correct spacing, and finishes that last for decades rather than months. Our team has over 30 years of experience handling everything from standard installations to historic restorations that require specialized knowledge. Improper installation can lead to buckling, gaps, and premature wear, making professional work a smart investment in both durability and appearance.
