Company used too many sub contractors. They did not show up for work as scheduled. Work was shotty. When the floors started buckling 3 weeks after being installed they blamed it on my Mother saying she did not keep the house cool enough. We fought until they had a flooring inspector come in and determine why the floors buckled. They claimed to having done a moisture test before installing the floors but the flooring company finally admitted to the inspecter that he had not done one. Paint did not match existing paint and had to be done again. The company put a lien against my mother's home because we retained the last payment because they did not fix all the problems, mainly the buckling floors. After months of going back and forth about arbitration, the company finally gave up. They removed the lien and forfeited the remaining money due. We were able to hire a flooring installer to redo all the floors. I would not recommend this company.

There were too many mistakes along the way; they messed up the carpet and never came back to clean it. They did too much sub-contracting; the people they brought in were not responsible. They had to come back and fix two or three things like the nails were too long and were scratching holes in the door and everything else. This is one of the things that kind of put me off. Their pricing was high; it did not even involve electrical work or so forth. I later saw on Angie's List that they were not worth calling. They came in for something else and said they would charge me this much and that much. I was not too impressed with them; I had to call them back too many times but they corrected the problem. I will not be using them again.

FAQ

Does DunnWright Contractor offer free estimates for general contracting projects?

We provide free, detailed estimates after an initial site visit to assess your new home build, custom addition, or restoration needs like fire, flood, or mold remediation. Pricing is determined by project scope, materials such as concrete, roofing, or waterfront installations, and labor requirements from foundation to finish. Homeowners can expect a custom quote that outlines all costs transparently to help plan budgets effectively.

Are you licensed and insured for construction and restoration work?

DunnWright Contractor holds all necessary licensing and insurance for general contracting and electrician services in Pensacola and the Philadelphia area. Our subcontractors are vetted to meet the same standards, ensuring coverage for liability, workers' compensation, and property protection during projects. We recommend verifying credentials directly to confirm compliance with local regulations for your peace of mind.

Does DunnWright Contractor handle custom stone fireplaces, hardwood flooring, and flat roof coatings?

We manage a full scope of services including custom stone fireplace and TV wall installations, hardwood floor installations, and flat roof cleaning and coating applications. Our expertise covers everything from kitchens and bathrooms to interior painting and trim work, using skilled teams for foundation through finished details. This comprehensive approach ensures seamless coordination for complex projects like waterfront installations.

What is your typical timeline and scheduling process for projects?

DunnWright Contractor develops a detailed project schedule with milestones for each phase, from permitting and foundation work to roofing and interior finishes. We communicate expected arrival windows and handle delays from weather or supplies by providing regular updates via site photos or meetings. Homeowners should make material decisions early to keep timelines on track for builds or restorations.

Does DunnWright Contractor clean up debris and leave the site tidy after work?

We remove all waste and debris daily, including from roofing coatings, flooring installs, or stone work, to keep your property safe and accessible. At project completion, our team conducts a thorough cleanup, vacuuming interiors and ensuring surfaces like freshly painted hallways are spotless. This practice protects your home and allows immediate use of completed areas like kitchens or bathrooms.

Why is hiring you safer and more effective than doing home construction DIY?

Our professional methodology follows building codes and uses vetted specialists for tasks like electrical wiring, mold remediation, or structural additions, reducing risks of injury or code violations common in DIY attempts. We coordinate permits, inspections, and quality checks across phases, avoiding costly errors such as improper waterproofing on flat roofs or unstable foundations. Homeowners benefit from expert oversight that ensures longevity and safety without the hazards of amateur work.
