1 year agoIf I could give them a zero I would. The guy at the gate house John rueckl, Had gotten on me for not having my tarp 100% on I'm sorry the wind did it. I knew going up to the gatehouse. It was a 50-50 chance of going into dump or being booted out because of my tarp when he got on me about it, I said I'm more than happy to drive away and retarp it and come back. I said that to him Multiple times during our encounter. He said he's not going to hold my hand while I dump. I did not ask anybody to hold my hands. I simply suggested to fix the issue. many time over the years. He has always been very lenient with me if like today when days had blown the tarp away , because I didn't have it tied down properly, it's never been an issue. You can't count how many times I see people going in there with loads that are not tarp properly but why are they never targeted? Why am I the target today? I was single it out that's the way I feel and that wasn't right. Today he must've been having an off day. I got my information to dump and before I walked away, I had stated that I will definitely be going somewhere else because I don't appreciate that. He used to always be extremely cool. Kind of like to go to guy if you have any problems. When I said, I stated that I'll be going elsewhere, there's plenty more landfills. He said, as he was only speculating, he said that well if you take it somewhere else that would be illegal. how is that illegal if I take my garbage within the counties that the dumps legally accept garbage, that is not illegal. John was clearly speculating the situation out of anger due to his bad day he was having, I offered many times to make the situation right. But he didn't want to hear that. I was getting a load from Highspire so yes, I went to Harrisburg and because that's where I'm supposed to go. I will make sure from now. I don't have any more jobs located in the vicinity of that incinerator. Because I definitely do not want to go there again, I've had issues with them in the past, but I was able to overlook at it because this guy was always cool to deal with and we always talked it over not today. I officially had enough. Yes, if I could give this place a zero I would. They used to never have these policies to begin with and even when they charge you $20 a pop for not having a tarp. I always paid that $20 a pop because that's business. And that's my own fault for not having a tarp. And I didn't complain about that. John also said that I verbally abused him. I never raised my voice one bit. I was very polite and I tried to fix the situation by going back out to redo my tarp. and if I had so-called verbally abused him, why did he not just tell me to leave. Why did he not call the cops. He didn't do any of that. If anyone got verbally abused that was me at the end because how John said that he was speculating that was taking stuff within the county where it shouldn't be. He has no idea what he's talking about because he doesn't know how I do business or where I do business. he just runs the gatehouse and that's it. When I had checked out of the gatehouse, he had not said anything out of context compared to what his job title states and what he supposed to do. I believe he realize he may have been in the wrong because it was a totally different attitude and he actually seemed pretty polite, but because of that I don't wanna take a chance and go back again, I didn't disrespect him in anyway I simply didn't have covered due to the wind blowing that tarp. And that was my fault 100%. Rant over. I hope some people see this and understand that this is not the way to go stay away from this place at all cost. I guess in reality a simple apology to me would go a very long way. As right now, I'm frustrated and I'm kind of clueless to why this even came to this point where I had To write a review to people not to go there or to properly make sure everything is 100% per their rules so they don't have to go through the abuse that I did today -

2 years agoFriendly and welcoming! This is the local dump youve been searching for (if youre like me) Dont forget to tarp your load and bring a yellow safety vest to unload. Was having trouble finding a place to drop off a bunch of old junk; ceiling tiles and roofing shingles mostly. 700 LB load in pickup truck was only $40 to drop off here. Was quoted $275 for a junk removal service. Awesome! Will be back
