1 month agoJ&S Construction was at my house within two hours after contact in subzero weather, putting a ladder in 2 foot of dangerous ice & snow. Giovanni managed somehow to get up on to my bay roof one and a half stories up. Then with nothing to hold onto he crawled on his belly under a window air conditioner to repair the flashing that was leaking. The weather was like 17°!! In my 40+ years of living in this big old house and hiring MANY contractors I have never had anyone go to such extremes as this man did! Sad to say that it was still leaking the next day and without hesitation or asking for more money he came back and this time it worked! Not only is Giovanni an amazing man, he is considerate, very well mannered, likable,and totally trustworthy! He did for me what no other Roofer I contacted would even consider doing. Without his help, I would've had serious internal home damage. I highly recommend this man without hesitation. -

2 years agoDo not under any circumstances use this company! They, like so many companies these days, say what they think you want to hear just to get your money. They showed up on time and 'appeared' to do what they were to do. When finished I had to give Giovanni a check, made out directly to his name because 'I am changing banks right now so I can't use the company name.' He told me that he would put an extra heavy coating in front of my garage as that is where the most wear was. He also said that since it was the first time the driveway was being sealed it 'might absorb and need another light coating to cover it properly'. He said he would need an extra $350 to apply the heavy coat in front of the garage and to apply the second 'light' coat where it might absorb. He said to let him know if this was the case and he 'be back tomorrow to apply the second coat where needed'. Less than 2 hours after he left, my check (Which included $350 MORE than the original agreed upon amount) had been cashed, with no issues. Within 3 hours of him leaving, the driveway clearly showed it needed a second coating. When I texted Giovanni to let him know he needed to come back he started with excuses about how he told me it might do that and that he was 'busy doing concrete work tomorrow, I can't get there until next week some time'. He was quite rude with his response acting like I was out of line for pointing out to him that he needed to come and finish the job that he was already paid, not only in full, but MORE than the original agreed upon price to do! This was on MAY 31! It is now August 11 and after excuses ranging from 'My guys won't work, it's too hot' to 'I'm too busy I can't' to 'I can maybe come and spray with whatever is left in my sprayer but I don't have any more material, it will be delivered next week' to 'I promise you are on the schedule for this week' there have still be zero sightings, only more extravagant lies as time goes on... it is now 72 days later! Three weeks ago when I contacted him and told him to just refund me part of my money he got rude again and said 'I understand your frustration. I promise you, you are on the schedule this week, we will make it right.' Well... 23 days later, and... just another lie. The 'full, thorough cleaning' is a joke. They walk around with a leaf blower for a couple seconds, then proceed to spray OVER mulch, leaves and weeds. I have missed/blank spots like this over various edges and even in the middle of my driveway where the blower failed to clear the leaves and mulch and they just sprayed over it. NEVER, EVER, USE J S ROOFING... FOR ANYTHING! -
