Called Friday 2-20-2026 Dave J. Winston, LLC & talked to Andrea (very informative, knowledgeable) to have a plumber come to put in Bidet & we had no hot water. Dave came within the hour. Dave said the hot water tank needed a water heater gas valve. He could not put in the Bidet, due to when he shut off the main water line , he said it was dripping & leaking for some time & our carpet was wet & we have another issue that needs addressed & fixed & Dave calle Erie Water Works to schedule Monday 2 -23-2026 @9am to shut off outside main water line to fix the inside leaking water line valve. Due to the weekend, Dave, Steve & Erie Water Works came was here on time Monday 2-23-2026 @ 9am & the work was done in 2 hours. Thank you so much for answering all my questions Andrea, Dave, & Steve for your punctuality, knowledge, professionalism & reasonable fair price. We had our main water line replaced, Water heater replaced/ under warranty, And installed Bidet in a timely manner. Any future plumbing or heating problems, we will call on them again.

Same issue as the last poor fella to deal with this ridiculous company. Quoted a complete removal of my unit last year and sent in to American Home Shield for warranty services. I was intentionally quoted thousands of dollars over what AMS quoted the repairs for and all it needed was a thermostat. Thanks YouTube! David J Winston gets an F! For leaving my family to freeze in the winter over greedy and shady business practices! Too bad BBB doesn't take into consideration individual ratings and reviews. This company has taken a steep dive since their earlier reviews! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

They were recommended by American Home Shield, American Home Shield is a waste of money. They installed a new furnace but removed my old air conditioning condenser without my permission. They did not even test it before they removed it after installing the new furnace. They installed a new Air conditioning condenser because they removed the old one without permission but it still cost me extra. They installation job they did lasted less then two years and leaked out all the Freon. The air-conditioning unit was not working. I thought the thermostat failed and I replaced it. It still did not work and I asked a friend that is an HVAC professional to see if I installed the thermostat correctly. It was working perfectly. As a favor to me, he checked the Freon level in the system and he discovered that it was empty. He tested the system to discover that the brazing job that was done on the air-condition leaked. It was in the 90's and we were suffering from heat exhaustion in our home. I told him to fix it if he could, We are senior citizens and have a cool environment is essential to us. He had to cut the faulty pipe and replaced it and recharged the system and it worked and we cooled off. I called the David J. Winston Company about this issue as I feel that they owe me for their shod work. The receptionist was rude and asked why I did not call them. I explained that the person I called was there to check my thermo stat and not the system. She was rude, obnoxious and sent out a crew two days later. I wrote them a letter that basically outlined every thing I have stated here. They sent a letter back. They called me a liar, they denied their shody workmanship, the rudeness of the person who answered the phone and sent a check for 80 dollars. I had sent them a bill for the Freon that was used to recharge the system. I was extremely disgusted with the David J. Winston CO. They made a mistake and I paid for it. They removed my condenser before they tested it initially. They denied any wrong doing. I will never call them ever again and as I am stating here, I will not recommend them to anyone. If you want to pay for their mistakes go and call them. I am not satisfied with their work and they are not someone to be trusted, unless you want to pay more money for something that you do not need. They are crooked and I do not recommend them to anyone. Fell free to share this.

Very professional and helpful! They certainly know their stuff. Boilers and everything plumbing. They serviced my boiler multiple times over the years and even solved a problem other HVAC people didn't with my air scoop. Rather than replace the smaller air scoop every 2 years, they knew it had to be much larger than what was there to take the pressure of a larger hot water heater system. Highly recommended. Thanks again guys for the recent help!

FAQ

How does David J. Winston Co. - Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning determine pricing for plumbing and HVAC services?

We determine pricing based on the specific job scope, including parts like copper piping or thermostats, labor for installation or repair, and any necessary inspections. Homeowners receive a detailed quote outlining what is included, such as equipment model details and disposal, to avoid surprises. This approach ensures transparent costs tailored to fixes like bidet installs or boiler servicing.

Are you licensed and insured for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning work?

David J. Winston Co. - Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning carries the required licensing, bonding, and insurance to handle plumbing, HVAC, and related services safely. We maintain workers' compensation and general liability coverage to protect your property during work on furnaces, boilers, or air conditioning systems. Proof of these credentials is available upon request before starting any project.

Does David J. Winston Co. - Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning handle bidet installations, boiler repairs, and water heater replacements?

We handle bidet installations, hot water issues, boiler servicing, furnace work, and air conditioning repairs as core plumbing and HVAC services. These tasks include thorough inspections to solve problems other technicians cannot.

What should I expect for scheduling and arrival times with you?

Our process includes using protective measures like drop cloths during installations to minimize mess. This ensures your space, including areas around newly installed heating systems or thermostats, is restored to its original condition.

Why is hiring you safer and more effective than attempting DIY plumbing or HVAC fixes?

Our professional approach involves detailed evaluations of systems like boilers and furnaces, ensuring proper sizing, airflow, and connections that DIY efforts often miss. We tackle tough problems with clear communication and expertise, preventing issues like improper refrigerant handling or electrical faults. This method extends equipment life and avoids costly mistakes from unverified installations.
