10 months agoHad Al come and reline our chimney as well as put a new damper in and a new crown at the top of the chimney. Even waterproof and sealed the chimney for us. Completely satisfied with the work and price. He was very professional and easy to work with. Would highly recommend using Al for all your fireplace needs. Thanks again AL was nice meeting you and your son. Wish him the best of luck with his future. -

12 months agoMy fireplace was not working. The pilot was lit, but when I turned the switch on it just wouldn't work. I was getting so discouraged because it seemed like everyone I called did not work on this brand or wanted to put a new unit in. Then a friend recommended I call, Al's Chimney Sweep. He told me he would come Thursday morning at 9:30. He was right on time. First thing I noticed was his appearance. neat, clean and well spoken. He took off his shoes and went straight to the fireplace. Over a year ago I took the glass front off, not liking how it looked. I told Al, I wasn t sure if I had the glass, and if so it would be down in the basement. Not only did He get it and bring it upstairs, but asked for windex and paper towels. Upon checking several things, his repairs were done, glass put in. He was so kind. People, listen to me, I am a senior citizen, if you have a problem with your fireplace or chimney, don't waste your time. call Al's chimney Sweep. My Angel for the day. -

1 year agoGave Al a call and a week later he came out to clean the chimney. He provided very good feedback as we had a lot of questions about our wood fireplace insert. He also saw an issue with our roof that we had no idea about and we got that fixed. Al was incredibly reasonable, communicative, and professional. Will be calling them again next year. -

FAQ
How does Al's Chimney Sweep determine pricing for chimney services?
We assess pricing based on the specific condition of your chimney, including the extent of cleaning needed, inspection findings, and any repairs like relining or crown installation. Factors such as creosote buildup, flue damage, or waterproofing requirements influence the final cost since every home's setup differs. We provide a detailed breakdown after our initial inspection to ensure transparency on what you're paying for.
Are you licensed and insured for chimney sweeping work?
Al's Chimney Sweep carries the necessary licensing and insurance to perform safe chimney inspections, cleaning, and repairs. Homeowners can rely on our established reputation built through consistent service in Coraopolis, PA, where we address issues like crown, firebox, and flue problems. We prioritize honest advice and thorough work to maintain trust with every job.
Does Al's Chimney Sweep handle chimney relining, damper installation, crown repairs, and waterproofing?
We perform chimney relining to restore damaged flues, install new dampers for better control, repair or replace crowns to prevent water entry, and apply waterproofing to protect masonry. These services address common issues seen in older homes, such as crumbling liners or rusty caps, ensuring your fireplace operates safely. Our inspections always check for these needs during routine sweeps.
What is your typical timeline and arrival window for scheduling?
We respond quickly to calls, often scheduling inspections or cleanings within a couple of days, and arrive ahead of the agreed window to respect your time. Services like chimney sweeps or repairs usually complete in under an hour for standard jobs, though complex tasks such as relining may take longer. Expect clear communication on exact timing when we book your appointment.
What does Al's Chimney Sweep do with debris and how do you handle cleanup after service?
We remove all soot, creosote, and debris generated during cleaning or repairs, using specialized vacuums and tools to contain mess. Drop cloths protect your floors and furnishings around the fireplace, and we seal off the area to prevent dust from spreading into your home. Your space stays clean and ready for use immediately after we finish.
Why is hiring you safer and better than attempting a DIY chimney clean?
Our professional approach includes full inspections of crowns, fireboxes, flues, and roofs using proper tools that reach deep into the chimney without risking damage. DIY efforts often miss hidden issues like creosote buildup, water stains, or structural cracks that can lead to fires or carbon monoxide risks. We provide expert feedback on safety concerns, ensuring comprehensive protection that homeowners can't achieve alone.
