Review is strictly regarding towing. Hanks fully takes advantage of the cushy city of bethlehem contract it has and all the citizens that the city needs its services for. Operating with impunity , they are happy to rake the average unlucky driver over the coals, charging a full day impound fee for a few hours , tacking on extra labor then telling you they actually didn't have to do any extra labor at all. Then chastise you over how you mishandled the situation of your car becoming disabled without even knowing the full circumstances. Heartless ruthless and purely profit driven - but when you have the government contract you just do and say what you want and keep raking in the guaranteed income until your contract runs out (hopefully soon). Merry Xmas Hank! Thanks for the reply there Hank very kind of you. A few important facts you leave out: I am the one who called the police about my own vehicle in the first place so of course I knew they would tow it. I had to leave it there because I had to make it to an out of town medical appointment for myself that would've taken me months to get a new appt and for a serious medical problem. I tried with strangers, adult males , to move the car out of the way first but that car was not gonna go anywhere without a tow truck and you know this. Nonetheless I am the one who made sure the police knew about my vehicle and why I couldn't be there and the dispatcher acknowledged this. But alas what do I get for trying my best to fix the issue and being a good citizen calling the cops on myself? I get railroaded ripped off and attempted to be made a fool of online. I'm absolutely entitled to my opinion of you but you're not entitled to retaliate with these falsehoods. The police dispatcher calls are recorded and you are the one now telling lies about your customers online Your 2nd reply: your initial reply was absolute retaliation - you left out critical facts to paint me in a bad light and using all CAPS several time in a condescending manner not exactly consistent with your family friendly 40 year local business motto that you are pushing. I've seen plenty of businesses over the course of time change how they conduct their business and treat their customers. New management, turnover, economic climate - companies change. I merely commented on my towing experience with you which I stand by 100%, to whoever Hank is nowadays if he's still running the place. Your basic facts about the circumstances of the vehicle are correct but leave out key context which I provided but you keep leaving out purposely to make me look like the angry customer who is just trying to smear you. I've spent enough time and aggravation laying out my case here for the public I don't see the point of calling you - keep my 80 something extra dollars for doing nothing but taking advantage of a guy having bad luck on a bad day, my insurance will reimburse me the tow that you made a good dollar off of. I only hope other motorists are as lucky as me to have decent insurance that will reimburse them the inflated tow cost you charge for these city ordered jobs. Everyone is going to get stuck with the extraneous costs and fees that you charge again just because you can without any chance of rebuke or legal recourse because you have your police ordered jobs and veil the justification for you charge and say with this. When you have to nickel and dime bogus charges like this in addition to a ridiculous tow charge it says a lot about your company and how you do business. I wouldn't wish for my worst enemy to deal with whoever you are personally or with your towing services. If you want to continue to question and misrepresent my story that is verifiable (again I'm the one who called the police on myself because I recognized the situation) then by all means keep after this poor schmuck on here for the public to see more of how you handle these situations and really show off those family friendly customer services skills finely honed over 40 years. I suspect based on your replies so far your ego won't allow you to do that

For some reason I thought that this guy was sincere about repairing a car's damage and maintenance but he referred me to someone else who charged me much more and as I stated on another mechanic performance, they had a deal with one another

FAQ

How does Hank's Auto Service determine towing prices?

We base towing prices on factors like distance, vehicle type, and time of service, including holidays or weekends when rates may adjust for availability. Contact us directly for a quote tailored to your situation, as we aim to provide clear costs upfront. This helps you understand total fees before we proceed with the tow.

Are you licensed and insured for towing services?

Hank's Auto Service holds the necessary licensing through our city of Bethlehem contract and carries full insurance for towing operations. Our coverage protects both your vehicle and our equipment during transport. We operate under established standards to ensure safe and legal service every time.

Does Hank's Auto Service handle flatbed towing and wrecker towing for cars and trucks?

We provide flatbed towing for vehicles like pickups, sedans, and hatchbacks, as well as wrecker towing for trucks and double tows for multiple SUVs. Our fleet includes white flatbed tow trucks and red wrecker trucks equipped for various needs in Bethlehem, PA. This range covers most standard towing scenarios you might encounter.

What is your typical arrival time for towing requests?

We respond quickly to towing needs, even on weekends or holidays, to get your vehicle moved fast. Expect us to arrive based on your location and traffic, with communication if delays occur due to holidays. Our team prioritizes prompt service to minimize your wait.

What does Hank's Auto Service do with vehicle contents or debris after towing?

We allow access to clean out personal items from towed or totaled vehicles, and our staff lends tools if needed during this process. Any debris from the tow site is handled responsibly to leave the area clear. Reach out to us at 226 Mechanic St in Bethlehem, PA, for specifics on retrieving belongings.

Why is professional towing safer than trying to move a vehicle yourself?

Our professional approach uses specialized flatbed and wrecker trucks to secure vehicles properly, avoiding damage from improper loading or chains. DIY attempts risk injury, further vehicle harm, or legal issues without proper equipment and training. We follow safe methodologies honed from city contracts and local experience to ensure secure transport every time.
