Al Schaller
6 months agoIn 2021 I spent $10,163.00 on four ductless units. Upon installation none (0) worked. Two had holes drilled in the wrong place, and rather than move the unit over to hide the holes, the holes were left visible? A third unit was obviously not level. When I pointed this out, one of the two installers told me my ceiling was slanted? One of the installers still works for SOHAC. May 2025. I again used SOHAC for a new furnace & heat pump. $15,885.00. Upon installation the new furnace & heat pump did not work properly. Service call two days later, still did not work properly. Did not use over the summer. November 2025 service calls started again. January 2026 I filed a complaint with the Construction Contractors Board. Warren finally calls. Eight & one half months after installation Warren & Brandon come out, a wire is attached to the unit, now the furnace and heat pump works? I must now use a different company for maintenance & repairs because I cannot trust the work or what I am told by the service men. Michelle was always friendly & helpful. Brandon has my sympathy. Al Schaller SOHAC talks of the Vietnam Memorial Wall. I think you should remove since integrity is lacking.

FAQ
How does Southern Oregon Heating & Air Conditioning determine pricing for HVAC services?
We base pricing on a detailed evaluation of your home's layout, existing equipment, and specific needs like furnace replacements or full system installs. This includes factors such as multi-floor setups and ductwork requirements to ensure the quote covers labor, materials, and any necessary modifications. Free estimates are provided upfront so you understand the full scope before committing.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work?
Southern Oregon Heating & Air Conditioning carries full licensing, bonding, and insurance to meet state and local requirements for HVAC installations and repairs. Our team also holds EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants safely. This setup protects your property and provides recourse if any issues arise during service.
Does Southern Oregon Heating & Air Conditioning handle furnace replacements and multi-floor HVAC installs?
We manage complete furnace replacements along with full HVAC system installations tailored to complex layouts, including three-floor homes. Our process involves thorough inspections of ductwork and airflow to maintain even temperatures across all levels. Technicians like Dakota and Joshua complete these jobs with professional precision, as seen in our Trane unit installations.
What should I expect for scheduling and arrival times with you?
We arrive on the scheduled date and time, as confirmed by technicians like Dakota and James in past installations. Expect clear communication from our office staff about arrival windows and any preparation needed on your end. This on-time approach minimizes disruption while allowing us to complete work efficiently, from quick fixes to full setups.
How does Southern Oregon Heating & Air Conditioning handle cleanup and after-service care?
We leave your home clean by removing old equipment and debris from furnace or HVAC replacements right after installation. Technicians protect floors and spaces with drop cloths during the job and perform a final walkthrough to ensure everything is tidy. You'll also get a hands-on explanation of your new system's operation and basic maintenance tips.
Why is hiring you for HVAC installation safer and better than attempting a DIY project?
Our professional approach includes precise equipment sizing, duct inspections, and airflow testing to avoid common pitfalls like improper refrigerant charging or inefficient setups that shorten system life. DIY efforts often overlook critical factors such as static pressure and local code compliance, leading to higher energy bills or safety hazards. We follow manufacturer standards for line sets, condensate drains, and electrical connections to deliver reliable, long-term comfort without the risks.
