3 months agoWe've now worked with L&J Construction Inc. on three separate projects for our family, and I can honestly say they've earned our trust every single time. From the very first project to the most recent one, their team has been consistent in all the ways that matter clear communication, reliability, and craftsmanship you can see the moment the work is finished. They show up when they say they will, they take pride in the details, and they treat your home with the kind of care you hope for but don't always find. What keeps bringing us back is the peace of mind. When you've had good experiences with contractors before, you know how rare that can be. With L&J Construction, we never have to wonder if the job will be done right. It always is. After three projects together, I can say without hesitation that we'll continue to call them for future work. If you're looking for a team you can trust with your home, they've certainly earned our recommendation. -

4 months agoL & J Construction came to the rescue when I discovered water on the floor under my water heater. I could hear the water heater warming water at strange times, not just after a shower or wash, just kicking in off and on all day. I was ready to call a plumber when I looked very closely at the flooring in the back of the closet the water heater was tucked in snuggly and discovered the wood looked dark (there was no pan under the water heater and it sat directly on the floor timbers). It didn't take long to determine there was a leak, but I had no idea how long it had been leaking or if there was permanent damage. This threw me into a panic because it was not a pipe, but the actual water heater that had been leaking and there was no telling how long. In a panic, I called my insurance agent and he told me I would have to try to mitigate any damage as soon as possible and gave me the name of L & J Construction and said he thought they might be able to get to it fairly quickly. I was a mess when I met Armando Jr. & Sr. They were polite & courteous & got on it right away. It was obvious that the water heater had started the issue, but with no pan under the water heater, the water had been slowly leaking & had gone through the timbers & into surrounding sheetrock and flooring. To make this ever longer story shorter, they drained the water heater, pulled out some standing water under the house, disposed of the water heater & began mitigation right away bringing in dryers to dry under the house. Through out the time they worked for me, they were always prompt & efficient as well as courteous & kind. I was on the verge of tears quite often never having had a serious insurance claim in my life. They are a family business and constantly reminded me they would take good care of my house and my concerns. Jumping way ahead, the wall between the hot water heater and the kitchen had caused extensive damage and the kitchen required cabinets & the oven to be torn out and in the end, I basically had a new kitchen since I decided to replace appliances while we were restoring so many things. I highly recommend L & J Construction. They were always there when they said they would be, equipped and ready to work, every night they cleaned up from their work, the protected the hardwood floors in my house and the workmanship was excellent. Their pricing is reasonable & competitive and their communication and courteous manner goes a long way to settle the jitters that come along with unexpected disasters and construction work in general. I would recommend them anytime. P. Kincaid -

FAQ
How does L&J Construction Inc determine pricing for water damage restoration?
We assess the extent of the damage, including affected areas like walls, subfloors, and any structural issues, to provide a detailed quote. Factors such as materials needed for restoration and the scope of related services like bathroom remodeling influence the final cost. Homeowners receive a clear breakdown to understand value before work begins.
Are you licensed and insured for home remodeling and water damage projects?
L&J Construction Inc holds the necessary licensing and insurance required for water damage restoration, electrical wiring, and remodeling services in Beaverton, OR. Our coverage protects both our team and your property during projects like flood remediation and home additions. This ensures all work meets local standards and provides peace of mind.
Does L&J Construction Inc handle water damage remediation including subfloor exposure and wall removal?
We specialize in water damage restoration that involves removing lower walls and exposing subfloors to address underlying issues from floods or plumbing incidents. Our process includes drying, remediation, and rebuilding affected areas like bathrooms. This comprehensive approach prevents further damage and restores your home safely.
What is your typical timeline and arrival schedule for remodel projects?
We communicate project timelines upfront and stick to them, arriving on schedule as shown in our master bedroom remodel experiences. Timelines vary by scope, such as quicker fixes for water damage versus multi-week kitchen or bathroom remodels. Expect our team to coordinate with your availability for efficient progress.
How does L&J Construction Inc handle cleanup and debris after water damage or remodel work?
We remove all waste and debris from water damage remediation, remodels, and construction sites, leaving your home clean and organized. This includes hauling away damaged materials like exposed subfloors and walls. Our process ensures your space is habitable and ready for final inspections or use.
Why is hiring you for water damage restoration safer than attempting a DIY fix?
Professional water damage restoration identifies hidden moisture in subfloors and walls that DIY methods often miss, preventing mold growth and structural weakening. Our years of experience with plumbing incidents and rebuilds ensure proper drying equipment and techniques that homeowners lack. This approach avoids costly future repairs and health risks from improper handling.
