On February 6th, we had our septic tank professionally pumped at a cost of $457.60. Just days later, our plumbing became clogged between the two bathrooms inside our home. On February 11th, we contacted Murray Plumbing and Electric to snake the line and resolve the issue. On February 12th, my husband took time off work to meet the technician, Zac. After explaining the problem, Zac snaked approximately 10 feet into the line, removed some grease, verified that the toilets were flushing, and left. The entire service took about 10 minutes. We were charged the $89 service call fee plus $195 per hour, totaling $284. Almost immediately after the visit, the clog returned, leaving one of our bathrooms completely unusable. Paying $284 for a service that lasted only minutes and did not resolve the issue is extremely disappointing. I contacted the company and spoke with Jenny through their call center. I expressed my dissatisfaction and explained that the technician appeared to do the bare minimum rather than fully clearing the line. Jenny assured me another plumber would return and that we would not be charged to make it right. On February 18th, Ozzie and his trainee arrived. Ozzie was professional; however, we were informed that while the $89 trip fee would be waived, we would still be charged $195. At this point, we had already spent over $740 addressing this problem and still did not have a functioning bathroom. Ozzie himself stated that the previous technician likely only loosened enough grease to temporarily relieve the blockage, which explains why the clog returned so quickly. We were then referred to Missy, the manager, who shifted the blame to the company that pumped our septic tank - despite the clog being clearly located between the two bathrooms inside our home, not in the septic tank. We were ultimately told that because the septic tank is now supposedly full again, they cannot snake the line. This entire experience has been frustrating and costly, with no resolution. We expected thorough service and accountability, especially after paying substantial fees. Instead, we are left with an unresolved plumbing issue and an unusable bathroom. I cannot recommend this company based on our experience.

FAQ

How does Murray Electric & Plumbing determine pricing for services like septic pumping or slab leak detection?

We provide upfront cost information before starting any work, such as the $457.60 charged for septic tank pumping. Pricing depends on the specific job, like the time needed to locate and repair issues such as slab leaks under foundations or electrical wiring problems. This transparency helps homeowners plan without surprises during electrical fixes or plumbing repairs.

Are you licensed and insured for electrical and plumbing work?

Murray Electric & Plumbing employs licensed professionals who handle tasks like meter canister replacements and septic pumping safely. Our insurance covers potential damages during services such as home wiring repairs or slab leak detection. Homeowners can verify credentials through local licensing boards for added peace of mind.

Does Murray Electric & Plumbing handle specific tasks like electrical panel inspections, meter replacements, slab leak detection, and septic pumping?

We track down and fix electrical issues including panel inspections, exposed wiring repairs, meter replacements, and lighting installations like hexagonal LED garage lights or pole-mounted fixtures. Our plumbing services cover slab leak detection under foundations and septic tank pumping to address clogs and backups. These hands-on approaches ensure problems in Broken Arrow homes are resolved efficiently.

What should I expect for scheduling, arrival times, and how long jobs take with you?

We aim to fit urgent needs like power restoration before storms, though high demand may require rescheduling to the next available slot. Technicians arrive within agreed windows and keep you updated on progress, as seen when teams quickly located a slab leak after a recommendation. Most jobs, from septic pumping to electrical fixes, wrap up in a single visit unless complications arise.

How does Murray Electric & Plumbing handle cleanup and after-service care?

We leave your property clean after completing work like electrical panel inspections or plumbing repairs, removing debris from exposed wiring or septic pumping. Technicians tidy up workspaces, ensuring walls and floors are restored post-installations such as lighting fixtures. Follow-up checks address any lingering concerns to confirm the job holds up.

Why is it safer and better to hire you instead of attempting DIY for electrical wiring or slab leaks?

Professional tools and expertise prevent damage during tasks like meter replacements or leak detection under slabs, where DIY risks brittle pipes or electrical hazards. Our team diagnoses issues fast, like resolving multiple home wiring problems or clogs after septic work, avoiding costly mistakes homeowners might make. This approach ensures lasting fixes without compromising safety in older Broken Arrow properties.
