3 months agoMy Home Warranty company hired Family First to diagnose and ultimately replace my furnace system. I was excited at first, because Jermaine was the first tech that actually spent more than 5 minutes diagnosing the issue and I was hopeful it would get fixed finally. Unfortunately that kicked off a whole new nightmare. Jermaine did install a new furnace in as timely a manner as possible considering all the back and forth forth with the warranty company, I do believe he tried to do the work as fast as he could so my 1 yr old stayed comfortable in our house. Despite the fact he was having family problems himself, which I understood. We started to have problems with the new furnace almost immediately. It vibrates and rattles so loudly, it sounds like there is a car engine in my basement. The furnace is vibrating the floors in my house it rattles so badly. The sheet metal joins on the ducting are also poorly done, leaking air from all around the main duct trunk. Unfortunately once the install was 'done' so was he. I tried to get ahold of him multiple times. He said he would come back and never did, i asked several times when we could get scheduled and he stopped responding. Even the Warranty Company couldn't get ahold of him. They tried 4 different days to get ahold of him and nothing. I ended up having to hire another HVAC company to come out and look at it. They reported that the cold air return was never fully connected, the sheet metal work was poorly done and needed heat taping, and that there were extra screws left they thought belonged somewhere in the unit. I am now waiting to have my brand new furnace reinstalled or replaced by another company since it was so poorly done the first time. This has been a nightmare, and I do not recommend this company for your HVAC work. -

8 months agoHis name was Jermaine and I felt comfortable with him because he made things easy to understand when he talked about what was wrong with my system and what he could do to fix it. Sometimes you can feel unsure trusting advice but he knew his stuff. Thanks for making it easy -

9 months agoCame less than one month ago and my thermostat reads 86 degrees so far and it's only 4pm. I contacted him, he read my texts, and will not respond. I plan to contact the better business bureau, my real estate broker in charge of 150 realtors, and my home warranty company who referred me to this company. Beware of work that doesn't last a month and lack of contact when it breaks again. -

FAQ
Does Family First Heating and Cooling Repair LLC offer free estimates for furnace repairs?
We provide clear explanations during diagnosis to help you understand the issue before committing to any work. Pricing depends on the specific problem found, such as whether a repair or full furnace replacement is needed. Contact us for a custom quote based on your system's condition.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work in Toledo, OH?
Family First Heating and Cooling Repair LLC carries the necessary licensing and insurance required for HVAC services in the area. Our technicians handle refrigerant safely and comply with local standards during furnace installations and repairs. This setup protects your home and ensures work meets code requirements.
Does Family First Heating and Cooling Repair LLC handle furnace replacements and ductwork installation?
We diagnose furnace issues and replace systems when needed, including installing new Goodman furnaces and modifying ductwork for proper airflow. Technicians cut sheet metal for custom duct runs and set up units in basements or utility closets. This ensures your heating system performs efficiently after installation.
What should I expect for arrival times and scheduling with you?
We respond promptly to heat emergencies, even in the evenings like 5pm on Fridays, to get your home warm again quickly. Technicians arrive within the agreed window and communicate updates via text or call. For standard repairs, we set clear timelines from diagnosis to completion.
Does Family First Heating and Cooling Repair LLC clean up after furnace installation or repair?
We leave your home as we found it by removing old furnace parts and debris from the job site. Technicians use workbenches for tools and ensure utility areas stay tidy post-installation. This includes hauling away waste so you can use the space right away.
Why is it safer to hire you for heating repairs instead of trying DIY?
Family First Heating and Cooling Repair LLC technicians explain issues clearly so you know exactly what's wrong, avoiding guesswork that leads to bigger problems. Our approach includes proper duct inspection and system testing, which DIY often skips and can cause inefficiency or safety risks like gas leaks. Professional tools and knowledge prevent voiding warranties or creating hazards in your home.
