9 months agoAccording to multiple local contractors who have viewed our failure, it was caused by a fan that was out of balance from startup. This lead to our unit catastrophically wrecking less than 2 years after startup and requiring 2 $650(if self done) bearing changes along the way. They refused to help with diagnosis or replacement of parts for weeks after failure. If you aren't intimately familiar with running, operating, and maintaining large equipment you should probably choose another supplier for your gun range. Our past in oil and gas and friends we made there is the only reason we survived their negligence. -

FAQ
How does Carey's Small Arms Range Ventilation determine pricing for ventilation system upgrades?
We assess pricing based on the specific needs of your shooting range, including the size of the space, existing ductwork condition, and required equipment like rooftop HVAC units. Factors such as project scope and materials for optimal air quality in high-use environments guide our custom quotes. Contact us for a detailed estimate tailored to your setup.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work on shooting ranges?
Carey's Small Arms Range Ventilation holds the necessary licensing and insurance required for HVAC contracting in Illinois. We carry general liability and workers' compensation to protect against potential issues during installations. Our compliance ensures safe handling of projects involving extensive ductwork and ventilation systems.
Does Carey's Small Arms Range Ventilation handle ventilation upgrades and maintenance specifically for shooting ranges and clubs?
We specialize in upgrading and maintaining ventilation systems designed for shooting ranges and clubs to ensure optimal air quality. Our services include installing large rooftop HVAC units, extensive black ductwork, and custom solutions visible in our completed projects. We focus on high-use environments where precise airflow is critical.
What is your typical timeline for completing a ventilation project?
Carey's Small Arms Range Ventilation delivers projects on tight timelines by collaborating closely with clients from the start. We provide clear scheduling expectations and work efficiently to minimize downtime for your range. Expect a walkthrough of the process, from recommendations to final installation and testing.
What happens to debris and waste after Carey's Small Arms Range Ventilation completes a job?
We remove all debris, packaging, and waste materials from the site after installing ventilation systems. Our team leaves the area clean, protecting floors and surfaces during the process. This ensures your shooting range is ready for immediate use without additional cleanup needed.
Why is hiring you better than attempting a DIY ventilation upgrade for a shooting range?
Professional installation prevents issues like unbalanced fans that can cause catastrophic failure shortly after startup, as seen in some cases. We apply targeted expertise to design systems that maintain air quality in high-use environments, avoiding common DIY errors in duct sizing and airflow. Our approach includes thorough evaluations and recommendations you might overlook, ensuring long-term safety and performance.
