7 months agoIF YOU NEED QUALITY TREE SERVICE, LANDSCAPING OR YARD CLEANUP-AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE--LOOK NO FURTHER THAN SHARP EDGE! Here's my experience with them. Finally got around to clearing the damage from last year's August 6 storm. But because of medical issues, couldn't do anything until last week. Had a huge, 50-foot pine tree that fell onto my shed in the backyard. Called a few tree service/landscaping companies describing the downed tree, damaged shed and now overgrown area around it all. Most would only do tree work and some land clearing but I also needed the damaged shed demolished and some junk stored inside all removed. Only a couple would do the complete clearing. One of those was Sharp Edge. I had used them about 5 years ago to clean up, mulch beds and trim trees at my daughter's home. Jeremy and his crew did a FANTASTIC job there. So I called Jeremy and he came out that same day and gave me a very fair estimate compared to the other 3 I got. And since I knew the quality of his work I hired him. He came out with 4 great guys and the right equipment to do the entire job. They demolished the old shed, loaded up all the junk, cut and removed the fallen tree limbs, trimmed the 35 feet of tree trunk we decided to leave standing, removed a couple of smaller trees and cleared all the overgrown brush and weeds. Once all cleared, they graded the area, brought in 5+ yards of topsoil and leveled it, and put down new grass seed and straw. Jeremy also trimmed an old apple tree in the middle of the yard that had several dead areas. The crew was here the entire day and aside from a short lunch break, worked non-stop and hard. When finished, they cleaned up everything leaving the area looking perfect. Take a look at the before, during and after pictures to see the awesome job. I can wholeheartedly recommend Jeremy and Sharp Edge for any landscaping, tree service as well as extensive cleanup, shed and junk removal. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THEIR WORK AND LOVE THE PRICE!! -

7 months agoThis is the 4th time I've used Jeremy and Sharp Edge. Our latest project involved clearing an overgrown 20' x 24' area we want to use for an outdoor fire pit/seating. The area had previously been filled by another contractor with the wrong kind of stone and it wasn't compactable or level. And he failed to put any weed control fabric underneath so the area grew weeds on steroids! Jeremy and his awesome crew removed the weeds and brush, removed a couple inches of soil and the old #57 stone, leveld the area with fresh topsoil and then put down heavy duty landscape fabric. I had some saved 8x8 timbers which they measured and cut to create a border to the area and to hold the limestone gravel in place. They secured the timbers with 2 foot pieces of rebar rods hammered through them into the ground. Next they put down a 2-inch bed of #411 limestone which is comprised of crushed material consisting of stone from quarter size down to dust called "fines"--very fine particles of the crushed limestone which acts as a binder to hold the larger stones together under compaction. They watered the area and then used a plate compactor to compress and bind the first layer. Then they added the second 2-inch layer of #411 limestone, watered and compacted it, going over the area twice to really compress and lock it all in. The end result is a firm and stable base on which you can set up chairs and tables without the legs sinking in. And it still drains rainwater adequately. The pics of the before and after show their awesome work! Next up was a general cleanup of our pond area. I had just put up a new perimieter cedar fence around it and removed a 72-year- old collapsing structure. This left about a 2-foot wide area between the new fence and where the old structure was. The crew cleared the pond area of the weeds and in partucular--that awful trumpet vine that overtakes everything. They added fresh topsoil to fill that newly created 2 foot space and graded it. Check out the before and after pics to see the transformation! Their thrid task was clearing out the weeds, poison ivy and overgrown area behind my shed. It's about 5-feet wide by 12-feet long along one side and 5-feet wide x 20-feet long along the other. The crew removed several inches of soil along with the overgrowth, leveld the area, put down heavy duty landscape fabric and the topped it with a nice layer of #3-#4 river rock. Wish I had pictures but take my word--that troublesome area now will require very little maintenance! Jeremy and the crew put in nearly a 10-hour day which I'm sure was longer that he had estimated but there was no increase in price!! Jeremy also moved a couple of small magnolia trees for my wife at the end of the job for no extra charge! I can't say enough positive things about Sharp Edge and look forward to working with Jeremy and his crew on the next "honey-do" list project. THEY ARE THE BEST!!!! -

7 months agoMy daughter purchased a home in Painesville whee the yard and landscaping had been seriously neglected for years, maybe decades. I called several contractors for quotes and they ranged from $1,300 to over $8,000 all for the same exact job. Jeremy from Sharp Edge came over and I immediately felt comfortable with him. He was knowledgable, professional, and took the time to write up a detailed, line-item proposal. After reviewing all the bids, his quote was about 1/3 of the highest bid. After accepting it, he stayed in contact and advised of their start date. When they did arrive, they had an army of guys with professional equipment and what was supposed to take 2 days, they finished in 9 hours, counting a break for lunch! Of course it helped that because of all the rain, they were not able to work on a couple of their bigger commercial jobs so extra manpower was avaialble. But all the guys actually seemed like they were eager to work and enjoyed what they did. They cleaned up when they were all done and now my daughter's house is one of the nicest on the street. I HIGHLY recommend Sharp Edge!! If you know me, you know how critical I am and what a stickler I am for details. You will not be disappointed using Sharp Edge for your landscape project, large or small!! Check out the pictures of the before and after.

FAQ
Does Sharp Edge Tree & Landscape offer free estimates for tree removal and yard cleanup?
We provide honest estimates based on the job's scope, such as tree size, location near fences or structures, and cleanup needs. Pricing stays fair while accounting for equipment like cranes, bucket trucks, and wood chippers required for safe work. Contact us to discuss your project and get a custom quote tailored to your situation.
Are you licensed and insured for tree services?
Sharp Edge Tree & Landscape carries the necessary insurance to protect your property and our crew during tree trimming, removal, and cleanup jobs. We prioritize safety with certified equipment and trained arborists, as shown in our work handling storm damage and overgrown areas. This coverage ensures you're safeguarded if unexpected issues arise near homes or fences.
Does Sharp Edge Tree & Landscape handle storm damage cleanup and tree removal near fences or structures?
We specialize in clearing storm damage from events like tornadoes, removing overgrown trees, and prepping yards for features such as fire pits. Our crew uses cranes, bucket trucks, and climbing techniques to navigate tight spaces around fences, neighbors, and roofs without damage. We've successfully completed these niche tasks multiple times for local homeowners.
What is your typical timeline for completing tree service jobs?
We work quickly to meet tight deadlines, often finishing projects in a single day depending on tree size and complexity. For instance, clearing a 20' x 24' overgrown area or cutting down backyard trees happens efficiently with our full crew and specialized gear. Expect us to coordinate scheduling upfront to align with your needs.
Does Sharp Edge Tree & Landscape provide yard cleanup after tree removal?
We handle complete yard cleanups following tree services, leaving your property neat after disasters or removals. Our process includes chipping debris with wood chippers and clearing away branches and logs from the site. Homeowners appreciate the thorough cleanup that restores their space promptly.
Why is hiring you safer than attempting tree removal as a DIY project?
Professional tree work involves heavy equipment like cranes and bucket trucks, plus skilled arborists in safety gear to manage risks near power lines, roofs, and fences that DIY lacks. Attempting it yourself can lead to injuries, property damage, or incomplete jobs without proper training and tools. Our experienced approach ensures safe, precise results every time.
