Austin was great to get work done when the time clock was running but was not great at a simple task of retrieving equipment his crew left behind. We stored his equipment for months while asking several times to have it picked up from our porch. It was very frustrating storing this equipment for months then the insurance check shows up and Austin wants to get paid and says just throw the equipment away after we kept it on our porch for months. Could have simply took an hour from his day to retrieve it or simply told us to trash it months ago instead us tripping around it for months. This simple issue was very frustrating also Austin's crew left many cigarette butts on my property, we are not smokers. My kids also found many many screws dropped and left behind from the repairs they made. Austin's crew was great and did great work but the simple issue were not addressed and frustrated us as a customer and small business owner myself. The small details are what matters. He also then goes to say he didn't charge us interest on the bill after 30 days as if he was doing us a favor while we dealt with insurance and he was well aware 100% of our situation with our insurance company. Customer service matters and ours didn't with this project.

FAQ

How does Dakota Fire and Water Restoration determine pricing for water damage restoration?

We provide free estimates after assessing the extent of water damage at your property. Pricing depends on factors like the volume of water, affected areas, drying time needed, and whether mold remediation or structural repairs are required. Our IICRC-certified team evaluates your specific situation during the initial inspection so you understand costs upfront before work begins.

Are you licensed and insured?

Dakota Fire and Water Restoration maintains IICRC certification, which means our team meets industry standards for water damage mitigation and restoration. We work directly with insurance companies, so your claim can be processed smoothly. Our credentials and insurance coverage protect both your property and your investment in restoration services.

Can Dakota Fire and Water Restoration handle mold damage along with water restoration?

Yes, we address mold growth that develops during water damage. Our photos show mold at floor and wall junctions-a common problem after water intrusion. We remove affected materials, dry structures thoroughly within about four days, and restore areas to prevent future mold issues. Mold remediation is part of our comprehensive restoration approach.

What is your typical response time when I call for emergency service?

Dakota Fire and Water Restoration operates 24 hours a day for emergencies, and our team prioritizes rapid arrival to limit further damage. Homeowners in our reviews consistently mention quick response times, which is critical when burst pipes or flooding occurs. We understand that every hour matters, so we dispatch crews immediately to secure your property and begin water extraction.

What does Dakota Fire and Water Restoration do with water, debris, and damaged materials after restoration?

We handle complete cleanup and removal of standing water, saturated materials, and debris generated during the restoration process. Our team extracts water using professional equipment, removes damaged drywall or insulation if necessary, and leaves your property clean and safe. The drying and restoration process typically takes about four days, after which your home is returned to normal condition.

Why should I hire a professional instead of trying to dry out water damage myself?

Professional water damage restoration requires specialized equipment like industrial dehumidifiers, air movers, and moisture detection tools that homeowners don't typically own. Improper drying can trap moisture inside walls and floors, leading to mold, structural damage, and costly repairs months later. Our IICRC-certified team knows how to dry structures completely and safely, protecting your home's integrity and your family's health from hidden moisture problems.
