2 months agoI had the service technician to come out and he was very professional and changed the filter and cleaned the heating coil. Also, he is the same person from last year in January 2025 to come out..so he is familiar with the system. A+ service and professional! -

7 months agoDuring routine preventative maintenance on my system, the technician broke a feeding tube to my humidifier when removing the cover. Rather than offering to replace the part, the Manager, Adam, quoted me $292 (the cost of the part is $16 - vendor photo provided) offering no alternative solution to the problem. He described the part as a "small, brittle piece of plastic" and then asserted that he would not accommodate the $292 repair unless I was willing to pay the full amount. Upon completion of the service, I was asked to sign the invoice and provide an additional signature stating that I was satisfied with the service. I said I would not sign that until the broken feeding tube was replaced and my humidifier was operational. Shortly after, I received an electric copy of the invoice and discovered that the technician had signed in my place that the service had been satisfactory (photo provided). -

FAQ
How does Coastal Heating and Air determine pricing for HVAC services like heat pump installations or generator setups?
We base pricing on factors such as the specific equipment model, system size requirements, labor for installation, and any necessary modifications like ductwork or electrical upgrades. Custom quotes start with a detailed home evaluation to ensure accurate sizing and avoid under- or over-capacity issues. This approach accounts for local code requirements and provides transparency on all costs upfront.
Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work including gas fittings and electrical services?
Coastal Heating and Air holds licenses as an HVAC contractor, electrician, gasfitter, and generator installer, along with required insurance coverage. We comply with state and local regulations, including EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants. Proof of licensing and insurance is available upon request to confirm our qualifications.
Does Coastal Heating and Air handle air duct cleaning and seasonal maintenance on outdoor units?
We perform professional air duct cleaning to improve airflow and indoor air quality, as well as winter seasonal maintenance on outdoor units to prevent issues like refrigerant leaks or coil freezing. These services extend to heat pumps, central air conditioning, gas furnaces, and geothermal systems for both homes and businesses. Regular upkeep helps maintain efficiency and catches potential problems early.
What should I expect for scheduling, arrival times, and installation timelines with you?
We offer flexible scheduling with clear arrival windows, typically within a two-hour block, and handle emergency HVAC services promptly. For installations like whole house standby generators or dehumidifiers, timelines range from one day for straightforward jobs to a week including permitting if needed. Our team communicates updates throughout to align with your availability.
What does Coastal Heating and Air do about cleanup and debris after services like duct cleaning or system maintenance?
We use drop cloths and shoe covers to protect your floors and furnishings during work on tasks like air duct cleaning or outdoor unit maintenance. All debris, old parts, and waste materials are removed and disposed of properly at the end of each job. Your home is left clean and ready for immediate use, with a final walkthrough to ensure satisfaction.
Why is hiring you for geothermal systems or air purification better and safer than attempting DIY?
Professional installation ensures proper sizing via load calculations, correct refrigerant charging, and compliance with building codes, which DIY often overlooks and leads to inefficiency or safety hazards like gas leaks. Our technicians follow verified processes for airflow testing and electrical connections, reducing risks of system failure or voided warranties. This methodical approach extends equipment life and optimizes energy use compared to unguided home attempts.
