9 months agoNAS Heating and Air is hands down the most unprofessional and rude company I've ever seen. They showed up after dragging their feet for days, took forever to finish the job, and then they came back and destroyed their own work. Who does that? Completely unprofessional, no communication, and zero accountability. If you want a mess instead of a fix, call NAS. Otherwise, run the other way -

2 years agoMay 24th Mr. Saunders comes to my home to check out what's going on with my AC unit, as the temperature inside was exceeding what I had set it to. He let me know that the "defrost board" needed to be replaced. He was able to run power to the contactor from the thermostat so I could have AC while we wait for this part to come (this visit was $175). We (my father and I) do not hear from Mr. Saunders for quite some time, my dad having to call him to check the status. June 30th he still had not come to replace the part, my house was set to 73, but inside temp was 77. July 7th around 5pm Mr. Saunders comes and replaces the defrost board ($370), adds "2 pounds" of 410A freon ($200), and freight charge ($50). By 1015 pm the same night the temperature inside my home was 77 degrees. The next day (July 8th) my house reached the temperature of 82 degrees inside. Someone's home at this temperature can be very dangerous. It was so hot and uncomfortable, even my two cats were showing signs of discomfort and stress. My father contacted him that evening and he stated he will be at my home the following day (July 9th) at 1pm. The time comes for him to arrive and he is not here, my dad gave him some grace time and calls him at about 130pm, Mr. Saunders did not answer the phone and his voice mailbox was full so we couldn't leave a message. My father sends a text, no response. At this point I was so fed up and out $800 in total. We called another company to come out to see what the problem was, they stated there was entirely too much freon in the unit and stated "it's never going to cool down with that much". They drained 1 pound of freon and my AC started working instantly, this man was also able to explain everything he did to us and actually educate us a little bit on AC units. Mr. Saunders has not yet been able to provide a receipt for the defrost board order, he verbally told my father it was $200 but on the invoice I received it was $370? I was only refunded $100 . In a text my dad received the reason for reimbursement was listed as "customer felt the bill was too high and work was not performed correctly". I had absolutely no issue paying $800 if that actually fixed the issue but it did not. The lack of urgency/ concern and failure to show up when he said he would has left me highly upset. Unfortunately I can not say that I would ever recommend NAS Heating and Air to anyone. -

3 years agoLeft job unfinished and its been well over 3 weeks. I call, I text then no response. I paid all but 300 on the job and he left his refrigerant cylinder and tools to reassure me that he would be back. The next day around 8 am I saw him sneak back, grab his stuff and I haven't heard from since. Came off as an honest guy. This stinks. -

FAQ
Does NAS Heating & Air offer free estimates or how is pricing determined?
We provide custom quotes based on the specific diagnosis of your HVAC system, such as AC repairs, defrost board issues, or leak detection. Pricing reflects the actual problem found without pushing unnecessary replacements, ensuring you only pay for needed work. This approach keeps costs straightforward and tailored to your home's requirements.
Are you licensed and insured?
NAS Heating & Air carries the necessary licensing, bonding, and insurance required for HVAC work in Fayetteville, NC, including EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants. We maintain workers' compensation and general liability coverage to protect your property during service. Proof of these is available upon request to verify our compliance with local standards.
Does NAS Heating & Air handle defrost board fixes and leak detection?
We specialize in targeted repairs like defrost board replacements and leak detection to address issues without full system overhauls. Our process starts with a thorough diagnosis of your outdoor unit and components, such as refrigerant lines and electrical connections. This hands-on method resolves problems efficiently, as seen in installations of units like Lennox systems.
What is your typical timeline for scheduling and arrival?
We offer same-day service when possible for urgent AC issues, with Mr. Saunders arriving promptly to diagnose and fix problems. Expect clear communication on arrival windows to minimize wait times, though complex jobs may require a follow-up visit. Our goal is quick resolution while explaining each step along the way.
Does NAS Heating & Air clean up after the job and handle waste?
We leave your home as we found it by using drop cloths, covering floors, and removing all debris like old parts or packaging from repairs and installations. After completing work on ductwork, linesets, or outdoor units, we check the area thoroughly for cleanliness. This ensures no mess remains, allowing you to resume normal use immediately.
Why is hiring you better than attempting a DIY HVAC repair?
Our professional approach involves precise diagnosis of issues like defrost boards or leaks, avoiding the risks of improper refrigerant handling that DIY attempts often cause. We use specialized tools for safe electrical and line set work, preventing hazards like system damage or voided warranties. Homeowners benefit from step-by-step explanations and verified fixes that extend equipment life, unlike trial-and-error methods.
