2 years agoBased on the recommendations of neighbors and positive reviews on Google, we (me and my Asian husband) contacted Todd at Gerald Jones to help us with a window replacement project for our 40 year old home. Reflecting on our experience with Todd, what strikes us as odd is how differently he appears to have treated us vs. other customers. While other window company sales reps spent time getting to know us & answering our questions about window technical specifications, warranty and installation, Todd demonstrated that he was disinterested in earning our business. The first thing that seemed off was how little time he spent evaluating our home on his initial visit; he couldn't have been here for more than 10 minutes, whereas other company's reps spent at least 45 minutes measuring windows & answering questions. As a result, Todd's initial price estimate was incomplete because he inaccurately counted the number of window on the home. We gave Todd the benefit of the doubt and met with him in his showroom to see samples of the windows he proposed using for our project. He only showed us one type of window; when we asked about other brands, he implied that our home wasn't worth considering higher quality windows. In our opinion, we were in the best position to decide how much or how little we wanted to spend on windows. The quality of Todd's customer service declined further after our showroom visit. We asked several times to see a copy of the warranty for the windows he proposed; this request was ignored. When we expressed concern about the loss of light due to the frame size of the windows he proposed, Todd responded with a curt email that he began with "I am not sure if I should do anything at this point." That In the end, we chose the Aluminum Company of NC for our window project based on their friendliness, professionalism & competence Unlike Todd, our sales rep promptly & thoroughly answered all of our questions. Not only were we impressed by our sales rep, but everyone else at the Aluminum Company who worked with us from our first call to their office to the final walk through/quality check after installation. We love our new windows, and wholeheartedly recommend the Aluminum Company to our friends! -

3 years agoThough we had to wait 6 months for our windows, this was a supply issue beyond the company's control. Once the windows were available, they were installed quickly, and fitted carefully. The installation team was great, and windows look terrific. Excellent company to do business with.
