Don't get ripped off like I did! This company has zero integrity. They charged us $45k to replace our HVAC system and recommended a product that doesn't meet our #1 need (which we explicitly laid out for them in all of our interactions leading up to the install). When we asked them to come back and make it work correctly they said they'd be happy to - for an additional $7500. What?? And when I asked for the owner to follow up and stand behind his work, he ghosted me. That's the kind of company this is. I had another AC company out who let me know that Number One could easily have chosen a system with remote sensing capabilities, and we'd have been fine. But they didn't, which means that either they are incompetent or don't care about their customers, or both. Either way, this is not a company you should work with. Their own Service Tech told me that he pushed back on the owner and told him that this was the wrong system for us, but the owner told him to keep quiet and just get the thing installed. Infuriating - now we are stuck with this hunk of junk for years and it doesn't even heat or cool the house properly.

Called number 1 over for a free estimate on a clogged sink that was beyond my scope. Nathan was quick with the estimate and able to clear the clog on the spot. He was nice, knowledgeable, thorough, quick, and cleaned up well. Service was a little pricey, but it was last minute, and such is the state of things. 10/10 recommend.

FAQ

Does Number One Plumbing, A/C, Solar & Electric offer free estimates?

We provide free estimates for plumbing, HVAC, solar, and electrical services in Albuquerque. Our team arrives quickly to assess the issue, such as a clogged sink or HVAC replacement needs, and gives you a clear quote on the spot. This helps you understand the full scope before committing to any work.

Are you licensed and insured?

Number One Plumbing, A/C, Solar & Electric carries all required licensing, bonding, and insurance for plumbing, HVAC contracting, solar panel installation, and electrical work in Albuquerque. We meet state and local requirements, including EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants in HVAC systems. Proof of our credentials is available upon request to ensure your peace of mind.

Does Number One Plumbing, A/C, Solar & Electric handle water softener installations and clogged drains?

We install water softener systems and clear clogs in sinks and drains for homes and businesses in Albuquerque. Our plumbers evaluate the problem during the free estimate and often resolve simple clogs right away. For water softeners, we ensure proper setup to address hard water issues effectively.

What is your typical timeline for showing up and completing jobs?

We respond quickly to scheduling requests and provide arrival windows that fit your needs. Many jobs, like clearing a clog, get done on the spot after the estimate, while larger projects such as HVAC replacements follow a clear timeline discussed upfront. Expect transparent communication about each step to minimize wait times.

Does Number One Plumbing, A/C, Solar & Electric clean up after the job and handle waste?

We leave your home or business cleaner than we found it by using drop cloths, shoe covers, and thorough cleanup of all debris. Waste from plumbing fixes, HVAC work, or solar installations gets properly disposed of according to local regulations. Our team tests the system and walks you through operations before leaving.

Why is hiring you safer and better than trying DIY for plumbing or HVAC fixes?

Professional approaches include load calculations for proper HVAC sizing, duct inspections for airflow, and code-compliant installations that prevent efficiency losses or safety hazards. DIY often skips these steps, leading to refrigerant issues, electrical risks, or systems that fail prematurely. We follow best practices like verifying static pressure and condensate drains to ensure long-term performance and avoid costly rework.
