I really hate writing a bad review of a local, independent business. However, Ultra created a dangerous situation and a series of headaches, and I have to strongly advise against working with this contractor. During the summer (hottest day) I scheduled with Ultra when there was a failure with my unit because they were available sooner than other options. The technician who came out was clearly new, but I assumed he was trained enough to do the work. Two days after the visit, the unit failed again. I had my usual provider (Key) come out to diagnose the problem. They spent time explaining the issue, and showed me how the Ultra technician's "fix" almost blew the compressor, which would have been very costly and dangerous. Obviously, I had to spend more money to undo Ultra's mistakes. Key fixed the unit permanently. I called Ultra to explain this issue, and (justifiably) never received an invoice. Now, many months later, they sent me an invoice for the first time, claimed late fees, and have threatened to send me to collections. I was told that Ultra is under new management, and maybe they trying to collect old invoices on work that was poorly done. In any case, it's obviously why there were more available than their competitors at a busy time of the year. Now I have to file a report with the state, and prepare a counterclaim against Ultra, all because their technician put our house at risk. To save you this hassle, I strongly recommend you work with a more reputable provider.

This is our first go around with a geothermal heating set up so I requested a service and a tutorial about my system. Derek was the service provider... he could not have been more knowledgeable or personable... he spent a good deal of time with me, explaining the system... the filters... the settings and was able to provide me with valuable information. He also serviced the system and made a few necessary repairs. At this point I would highly recommend ultra geothermal and derek without reservation. Thank you!

I have been using Ultra Geothermal for servicing my older open-loop geo system for 10+ years, and when that system crapped out I approached them about replacing it. After lots of consultation I decided to go with an air-source heat pump system from them. Communication with Parker was great and they installed quickly and professionally. Highly recommended.

We cannot say enough good things about Ultra and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a change in HVAC service! We recently had a new geothermal system installed by Ultra Geothermal in 2022 and have had a great experience. The company is now under new ownership and being run extremely well. The communication and service are top notch. Rey is one of the main people you will interact with coordinating service. He is friendly, professional, efficient and a great communicator! From struggling to even get a live voice with other companies we have worked with in the past (Key Heating, Strogen's), this is a welcomed change. The technician team is led by Derek who is top notch!

FAQ

How does Ultra Installs determine pricing for HVAC installations?

We base pricing on your home's specific needs, including system type like geothermal or traditional heating, equipment sizing, and any required ductwork or upgrades. Our team performs a thorough assessment to provide a detailed written estimate that outlines labor, materials, and other costs upfront. This approach ensures you understand the full value before committing to the project.

Are you licensed and insured for HVAC work?

Ultra Installs carries all necessary licensing, bonding, and insurance to meet state and local requirements for HVAC contracting. We also ensure our technicians hold EPA 608 certification for handling refrigerants safely. You can request proof of these credentials at any time to verify our compliance.

Does Ultra Installs handle geothermal system installations and radiant floor heating?

We specialize in geothermal systems, including new installations, upgrades for older open-loop setups, and maintenance for equipment running over 10 years. Our services cover radiant floor heating tube installations on concrete slabs as well as HVAC ductwork and air handler setups in basements and new construction. We take time to evaluate your setup and explain options tailored to your home.

What is your typical timeline for HVAC projects?

We schedule arrival windows clearly and aim to complete most installations within a few days once permitting is handled, depending on project scope like full geothermal systems. Our team coordinates with you on exact start times and provides updates throughout the process. Expect a walkthrough at the end to review system operation and next steps.

What does Ultra Installs do with debris and cleanup after service?

We use drop cloths and protective measures during work on ductwork, air handlers, or radiant heating to minimize mess in your home. At completion, our team removes all waste materials, tools, and debris from the site, leaving your space clean and ready for use. This includes hauling away old equipment when replacing systems.

Why is hiring you safer than attempting HVAC installation yourself?

Professional installation follows strict codes for sizing, ductwork airflow, and refrigerant handling, which prevents issues like inefficient performance or safety hazards from improper setups. Our technicians conduct load calculations and performance tests to ensure systems meet manufacturer specs, avoiding common DIY errors such as poor insulation or leaks. This methodical process protects your home and investment long-term.
