they arrived on time so they were very punctual when they got there I told them what was wrong I knew it was the thermostat they did not come with another thermostat even though when I made the call I told them it was the thermostat and I only had one hour to be there and he had to leave to go get a thermostat. He brought in the thermostat and the product as researched online cost between 40 to 60 I was billed $210.00 for the thermostat this did not include the almost $100.00 installation fee for the 10 minutes it took to install it. When the installer was finished he left drywall on my carpet along with plastic from the packaging of the thermostat. He did not leave me the box from the new thermostat. He took it with him and he also took my old thermostat which I did not ask him to do he did not cover with me on how to set the thermostat he told me that there was a piece of paper in the back that would tell me how to do it. I feel that I was priced gouched. When I called to ask them about it to see if a mistake was made after knowing the product only really cost between 40 and 60 dollars they told me that they were busy and would have to call me back no one called me back I called them back and the girl said I'm sorry there's nothing we can do I complained a little bit more and told her I really feel violated and she said that she would have to get back to me and no one has.

FAQ

How does Midwest Heating & Air Conditioning determine pricing for HVAC work?

We provide detailed written estimates that break down all costs, including equipment model numbers, labor, permits, materials, and any additional services. Our estimates are transparent so you understand exactly where your money is going. We recommend getting multiple quotes to compare pricing and scope, and we're happy to walk you through our estimate and answer any questions about what's included or excluded from the proposal.

Are you licensed and insured?

Midwest Heating & Air Conditioning maintains proper licensing and insurance to protect both your home and our team during service work. When you contact us, we can provide proof of our credentials and answer questions about our certifications, including EPA 608 certification for refrigerant handling, which is required nationwide. This ensures we meet all state and local requirements for HVAC work in Nebraska.

Does Midwest Heating & Air Conditioning handle both furnace and air conditioning repairs?

Yes, we service all your heating and cooling needs, from routine maintenance on furnaces and air conditioners to full system repairs and replacements. Our team is equipped to handle the range of equipment shown in our service gallery, and we work with various brands to find solutions that fit your home and budget. Whether you need a seasonal tune-up or emergency repair, we're here to keep your system running through Nebraska's hot summers and cold winters.

What should I expect for scheduling and arrival times?

Midwest Heating & Air Conditioning prioritizes punctuality and clear communication about timing. When you schedule service, we'll provide you with an expected arrival window and let you know what to prepare. Our team arrives ready to work efficiently while respecting your home, and we'll walk you through the process so you understand what's happening and how long the work will take.

How does Midwest Heating & Air Conditioning handle cleanup after installation or repair work?

We protect your home during service by using drop cloths and taking care to minimize mess throughout the job. After we finish, we clean up our work area and properly dispose of any materials or old equipment removed during the service. Our goal is to leave your home in good condition, and we're happy to discuss our cleanup process when you call to schedule an appointment.

Why is professional HVAC service better than attempting repairs myself?

HVAC systems are complex and require specialized tools, training, and certifications to work safely and effectively. Improper installation or repair can reduce system efficiency, shorten equipment life, and create safety hazards like incorrect refrigerant charge or electrical issues. Professional technicians conduct proper load calculations, inspect ductwork and airflow, verify system performance, and ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and local codes-protecting both your investment and your home's comfort.
