12 months agoI'm a longtime, pathological recycler. GCR is a great recycling service. The every other week pickup serves us well. I wish we could recycle more plastics here in the US like they do in Canada but at least I can recycle most of what we use. Between this service and composting, our garbage production is minimal. Highly recommend GCR. -

12 months agoGarden City Recycling is awesome, we switched to them from Republic a couple of years ago and have never looked back. It's a bit more effort to sort your recycling, but it seems likely more of it ends up in a reuse stream than the giant bin of questionably recyclable mixed stuff that we used to send fill weekly. GCR is communicative about what you can recycle and how, any changes to pick up days (holidays), and they take cardboard outside the bins if you have a lot! They also show up when they say they will! -

1 year agoWe switched to Garden City Recycling after some terrible customer service experiences with Republic. It's so nice to work with a local small business where everyone is actually competent. Cons: They take a lot fewer things than Republic, only #1/clear #2 plastic and no thick catalogs unless you cut the spine off yourselves. And the smaller sorted bins are less convenient, especially if you go through a lot of cardboard like us. But OTOH they're maybe actually recycling the stuff that they collect, versus burning it. I wish the website had more transparency about where all the stuff goes, but regardless, they're 1000% better than Missoula's only other option for recycling.
