10 months agoI purchased stone flooring from this company and awaited the salesperson, who assured me that he was confirming the total amount. He informed us that there was 270 sq. ft. available. However, after purchasing and paying our tile subcontractor to collect and deliver the material to our residence, we discovered there was only 150 sq. ft., which is insufficient to complete the project. Additionally, the designer had matched all colors based on stone tile, causing us to revise our plans. Upon contacting the company again, I was informed by a woman that the salesperson was no longer employed there, and she had seen him check the inventory incompletely. Despite witnessing this significant oversight, she proceeded to accept our $1600 payment without addressing the error. I would advise against engaging with this company and instead recommend sourcing from Home Depot, which offers better prices and more reliable service. -

FAQ
How does Montana Tile & Stone determine pricing for tile and countertop projects?
We provide custom quotes based on your specific project scope, material selections, and budget. During your initial consultation at our showroom, our team takes time to understand your vision and presents various material options at different price points. We believe in transparent pricing so you can make informed decisions about where to invest in your project. Once we've finalized your selections and layout, we'll provide a detailed estimate before any work begins.
Are you licensed and insured to handle tile installation and countertop work?
Montana Tile & Stone operates as a professional tile and stone contractor serving the Gallatin Valley and surrounding areas. We recommend verifying current licensing and insurance details directly by calling us at (406) 587-6114 or visiting our showroom at 58 Peregrine Way in Bozeman. This ensures you have the most up-to-date information about our credentials and coverage for your specific project.
What services does Montana Tile & Stone handle beyond tile installation?
We offer comprehensive services including countertop fabrication and installation, tile selection and installation, stone flooring, backsplash work, and custom stone projects. Our team handles everything from initial material selection through final installation, so you're working with one contractor from concept to completion. Whether you need a full kitchen remodel, bathroom renovation, or specific tile and stone work, we manage the entire process to ensure cohesive results.
How long does a typical tile or countertop project take from start to finish?
Montana Tile & Stone works with your project timeline and goals to create a realistic schedule. The duration depends on project complexity, material availability, and whether fabrication is needed for custom countertops. During your consultation, we'll discuss lead times upfront so there are no surprises. We recommend scheduling your consultation early so we can plan accordingly and keep your project on track.
What should I expect regarding cleanup and debris removal after Montana Tile & Stone completes my project?
We handle the installation process professionally and leave your space in good condition upon completion. For specific details about cleanup procedures, debris removal, and how we protect your home during the installation, we recommend discussing these details during your initial consultation. Our team takes pride in maintaining a clean work environment and respecting your home throughout the project.
Why should I hire a professional for tile and stone work instead of doing it myself?
Professional installation ensures proper substrate preparation, correct tile layout, appropriate grout and sealant application, and long-lasting durability. Improper installation can lead to cracking, water damage, and costly repairs down the road. Our team brings over two decades of experience selecting and installing natural stone and tile, which means we understand material properties, design principles, and installation techniques that protect your investment. We also handle the technical aspects like plumbing integration in bathrooms and precise measurements for custom countertops.
