We had an overall great experience with J Bathe! Our new-to-us 1947 build home needed a full panel and meter/mast replacement. We first worked with Brendan who provided us a well-priced bid. When we added a few other tasks (diagnosing why our brand new dryer wasn't heating, 3 GFCI installations, 1 outdoor GFCI installation, and replacement of some aluminum wiring with copper) this caused some confusion over email, but I received a call from the owner, Brad, who helped get it figured out and correct our estimate. Great customer service! We experienced some delays due to the weather (waiting on an above-freezing day in February so the outdoor work could be done safely) but the front office staff Pam and Sherry were very communicative and kept me in the loop about rescheduling. Although the outdoor work had to be postponed, I requested that someone still come out to fix our dryer issue so we could do laundry. Dan quickly realized our breaker was corroded out and found a solution! I really appreciated that they went above and beyond to help us out with this more pressing issue. Our electricians for panel day were also fantastic! Jay and Andrew were friendly, showed up on time and quickly got started on this all-day job. Jay offered options as he discovered more interesting details about the wiring in our home. He was very patient and kind in answering my millions of questions. He also gave us helpful advice for some future project ideas we have. And he did relabel the panel (photo is from before he finished). The work looks nice and neat, breakers were relabeled as before, all materials and messes were cleaned up and there was great care taken not to damage the outside of our home or the tile roof. Our city inspection also went well with no issues. After interacting with 7 different people at J Bathe, I can say they have great customer service and I would 100% recommend them for a large job like this one and will be using them again in the future for smaller ones as well.

We scheduled J. Bathe to come out and do a few things for us; upgrading our service to 200amp, installing a larger panel, and installing multiple dedicated circuits. Jay, Tyler, and Mel were all very knowledgeable and very friendly, answering any questions I had. Everything was finished the same day and looks great! If needing work done in future I won't hesitate to call J Bathe and request any of the guys above again! P.S. their pricing beats the competition!

Great service and very accommodating for our situation. Old house with a few tricks up its sleeve gave them some challenges but they handled it excellently. Service was electrical panel upgrade and EV car charger installation. Would definitely hire again.

FAQ

How does J. Bathe Electric determine pricing, and can I get an estimate before work starts?

We base our pricing on the specific electrical work you need, such as wiring, panel upgrades, lighting, generators, or solar-related tasks. The cost is influenced by the scope of the project, the condition of your existing electrical system, and the materials required. We discuss your project with you first so we can provide a clear, custom quote before any work begins. This helps you understand what is included and avoid surprises as the job moves forward.

Are you licensed and insured, and how can I feel confident about your work in my home or business?

J. Bathe Electric operates as a professional electrical contractor, and our focus is on safe, code-compliant work for both homes and businesses. Our electricians are trained to work on wiring, electrical panels, lighting, generators, and solar equipment with safety as the priority. We follow applicable electrical codes and industry best practices on every project. Our approach is to explain what we are doing and why, so you feel informed and comfortable while we are working on your property.

Does J. Bathe Electric handle specific jobs like panel upgrades, GFCI outlets, EV chargers, and electrical fire damage repairs?

We handle a wide range of electrical tasks, including work inside electrical panels, wiring and rewiring, and installing or upgrading lighting. We can install devices like GFCI outlets and switches where added protection is needed, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and garages. Our team also installs equipment such as electric vehicle charging stations and can repair or replace wiring and components that have been damaged by heat or electrical issues. For any specialized electrical need in your home or business, we can evaluate the situation and recommend a safe solution.

What should I expect for scheduling, arrival windows, and project timelines when I book with your team?

J. Bathe Electric schedules an initial visit to understand the work you need, then sets a service date and arrival window based on the size and urgency of the project. We aim to arrive within the agreed window and communicate with you if timing needs to be adjusted. Smaller tasks, like outlet or switch work, may be completed in a single visit, while larger projects such as panel work, generator installations, or extensive wiring can take longer. Throughout the process, we keep you updated on progress and next steps so you can plan around the electrical work.

How does J. Bathe Electric handle cleanup and the condition of my home after electrical work?

We work to keep the area around our electrical work as orderly as possible and clean up our materials and debris when the job is done. When we complete wiring, panel, or device installations, we remove our packaging, wire scraps, and any other job-related waste we create. If access to wiring requires opening walls or ceilings, we explain what level of patching or additional repair might be needed. Our goal is to leave your space safe, functional, and ready for any finishing touches you choose to make.

Why should I hire your electricians instead of trying DIY electrical work myself?

We work with electrical systems every day, so we understand how to diagnose issues in panels, wiring, outlets, lighting, generators, and solar components safely. DIY electrical work can create hidden hazards, such as loose connections, overloaded circuits, or code violations that may not show up until there is a failure or fire risk. Our electricians know the local electrical codes and use proper tools, testing, and installation methods to help prevent these problems. By having us handle the work, you reduce safety risks and increase the chances that your electrical system will perform reliably over the long term.
