An electrician arrived to our home late 2 weeks ago (I rushed home from work only to sit around my house for 2 hours waiting), then the electrician didn't have time to do the job upon arrival. We had to reschedule for today, and they apologized for forgetting to put the appointment on the schedule. This is a huge problem, as we have another company here now to install cameras around our home, and we scheduled the date/time around Southern Electric's availability so that the two could coordinate their work today. Now I've lost money AND delayed my project TWICE because the other company will have to come back (for a THIRD ATTEMPT to do the job). Obviously for take #3 I will secure a different electrical company that I can rely on. Unbelievable. We used Southern Electrical several times (a few years ago) and were happy with them; however, I believe they changed ownership in this time which may explain the difference in service between now and prior years.

$750 Haven't got the work done yet because of delay the parts haven't come in yet. I got a 10% discount because I am a Veteran. I took off from appointments to meet their schedule. The Rep said that they could at least come out and do some of the work, but it didn't happen. I will work with them. They are good Contractors. I can imagine they do great work. I hope that they can get to me soon.

FAQ

How does Southern Electrical Services, LLC determine pricing for electrical work?

We provide custom quotes based on the specific details of your project, including the scope of work, materials needed, and labor involved. Every electrical job is different-whether it's a simple outlet replacement or a complete panel upgrade-so we assess your situation directly to give you an accurate estimate. We recommend contacting us with details about your project so we can provide a transparent quote before any work begins.

Are you licensed and insured?

Southern Electrical Services, LLC maintains the proper licensing and insurance required to perform electrical work safely and legally. This protects both you and our team during the project. When you hire a licensed electrician, you're ensuring the work meets local electrical codes and safety standards, which is critical for preventing hazards like electrical fires or electrocution.

Does Southern Electrical Services, LLC handle generator installation and emergency electrical repairs?

Yes, we specialize in generator installations for both residential and commercial properties, and we provide emergency electrical services when you need immediate help. Whether your power goes out unexpectedly or you want backup power for your home, our team can assess your needs and install a system that works for your situation. We also handle urgent repairs like burnt components or failed circuits that require same-day attention.

What should I expect in terms of scheduling and arrival time?

Southern Electrical Services, LLC works to schedule appointments that fit your availability, but we understand that unexpected delays can happen. When booking, confirm the appointment window with our team and ask about our typical response time for your type of job. For emergency services, let us know the urgency so we can prioritize accordingly. It's also helpful to ask upfront if there are any factors that might affect the timeline, such as waiting for parts to arrive.

How does Southern Electrical Services, LLC handle cleanup after electrical work is completed?

We take care to leave your home clean and organized after finishing the job. This includes removing packaging materials, disposing of old fixtures or wiring properly, and ensuring the work area is safe and ready for you to use. If your project involves significant demolition or rewiring, ask us in advance about cleanup expectations so there are no surprises when we finish.

Why should I hire a professional electrician instead of attempting electrical work myself?

Electrical work carries serious safety risks if not done correctly, including electrocution and fire hazards. A licensed electrician has the training, tools, and knowledge to work safely and ensure your installation meets local electrical codes. Professional installation also protects manufacturer warranties on equipment and gives you peace of mind that the job was done right the first time, which can save you money on costly repairs down the road.
