2 months agoWe used EdgeWork for a whole home renovation, both interior & exterior (minus the basement), and are absolutely in love with our new home! Undertaking a project as large as ours was a situation where moving completely out of the home made the most sense for the project to be executed. As trying as it was to be out of our home while the work was being done, everyone from EdgeWork made it so easy on us. From start to finish it was a collaborative process. Dave and Rawan, EdgeWork's Designer began by listening to our wishes, got a feel for our style, came to take a look at the existing space, and then went to work. We had some ideas about how we wanted to transform our home, but were stunned by the design that was presented to us! The creativity was amazing, and with a smaller home, the way the design utilized our space, even with limitations presented by the size, and existing structure (load bearing walls, etc.) was nothing short of amazing! Even though we didn't add any more actual space to the home, the creative ways they transformed our space by moving walls and room configurations makes it feel like we put an addition on our home! When they came back with the bid/design, Dave and Rawan thoroughly walked us through everything before we got started and signed the contract. We had a blast working with Rawan. Her expertise and sharp eye for design is evident throughout the entire process. While making all of our selections (tile, fabrics, furniture, etc), she listened closely, was respectful when we brought ideas or selections on our own, and worked those into the design where appropriate. If a selection we made was missing the mark a bit, she would take inspiration from the idea and would present us with options that took our ideas to a whole new level! She was always highly organized, and always brought samples of our selections when we were making other decisions, displayed them so we could get an idea in our minds of how everything would come together. Countless times while making selections the compliments received from employees and customers of the establishments we were making selections at were always "stunning", "gorgeous", "beautiful". We never felt rushed to make decisions, and knew Rawan would keep searching for options and selections until she was confident we were completely satisfied. She is truly an asset to the entire process, and EdgeWork is lucky to have her! Throughout the entire project, our project manager Chris was fantastic! We were always informed every step of the way. He always took the time to give us a call to let us know what was going on. If any hiccups came up, he sought out solutions, provided us with all the information we needed if we needed to change course (which was rare). Chris worked his magic with all of the subcontractors to keep the schedule moving along, all while treating all of the tradespeople with respect and patience. His commitment to making sure we got everything we wanted/expected was never in question. He made sure we knew that we could always reach out with any questions and concerns, and we never felt like any request we had was too much, and he would do all he could to make those things happen. Like Rawan, he is a true asset to EdgeWork. The subcontractors EdgeWork chooses to work with are superb at their respective trades. All of them do amazing work, and each of them were friendly, respectful, and brought the design to fruition wonderfully. Kudos to the rest of the EdgeWork crew. Brad was always hard at work helping out where he was needed. Kevin brought his expertise and experience if an odd situation came up. Jake came in to lend a helping hand to bring the project to a close and help out with finishing touches. Jen kept everything so organized from an administrative end. Without hesitation we would recommend EdgeWork. Dave and his team are a talented and committed crew that made our dream of what our home could be to reality! Thank you so much! We can't wait to work with them again when we finish the basement! Rick & Derin -

9 months agoEveryone at Edgework was patient, professional, skilled, and nice. We did a big project on our house in 2024 and Edgework helped guide us through the process. We spent years discussing the project in advance. We are very happy with the outcome. They were good listeners. Thank you! Nick -

1 year agoI really can't say enough good things about Edgework and the team (Dave, Jake, Rawan, Jen) who helped us on our house renovation. They did just a superb job coordinating our whole-home renovation and we really couldn't be more pleased with the process or the result. Sometimes (or really many times!) you hear of all these horror stories that people have when they do home renovations, but Edgework couldn't be further from any of that. They work with you to get the design process right, come up with a very fair budget, and execute on it with diligence and top-notch craftsmanship. The subcontractors they work with are amazing and get the job done right. And they're just great and down-to-earth people to work with all around. We really couldn't be happier and would recommend Edgework highly to anyone looking for a design-build firm in the Twin Cities area.

FAQ
Does EdgeWork Design Build offer free estimates for basement or kitchen remodels?
We provide free initial consultations to assess your basement or kitchen remodel project and discuss your vision. Pricing is determined by factors like project scope, materials selected, and any structural changes required, with a detailed quote following our site visit. This approach ensures you receive an accurate cost breakdown tailored to your home's needs.
Are you licensed and insured for home remodeling services?
EdgeWork Design Build carries full licensing and insurance coverage for all our remodeling projects, protecting both your property and our team. We maintain worker's compensation to cover any on-site incidents, giving you peace of mind during construction. Homeowners can request proof of these documents before work begins to verify everything is current.
Does EdgeWork Design Build handle custom installations like TV lift cabinets, sliding barn doors, or ceiling fans?
We specialize in custom handyman fixes including TV lift cabinets, sliding barn doors, ceiling fans, custom bars, floating shelves, and walk-in closets with wooden shelving. Our services extend to basement remodels, bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, room additions, and building inspections to ensure everything fits your home's style. These installations come from our hands-on experience refinishing interiors and exteriors since 1976.
What is your typical timeline and scheduling process for a remodeling project?
We start with a consultation to outline your project timeline, which varies based on scope-for instance, a mudroom addition with plumbing might take several weeks including design and build phases. Our team coordinates arrival windows in advance and sticks to the schedule to minimize disruption. Expect regular updates so you know exactly when each phase begins and ends.
Does EdgeWork Design Build handle cleanup and debris removal after the job?
We manage all debris removal and site cleanup daily, leaving your home tidy and safe at the end of each workday. This includes hauling away construction waste from remodels like basements or bathrooms to keep your space usable. Final walkthroughs confirm everything meets your standards before we wrap up.
Why should I hire you instead of doing a DIY remodel?
Our professional approach delivers practical, lasting designs shaped by decades of experience in the Twin Cities, avoiding common DIY pitfalls like poor structural integration or mismatched styles. We handle complex tasks such as plumbing for dog-washing sinks or pocket doors that require precise building inspection and expertise. This ensures safety, code compliance, and a high-quality result without the risks of amateur errors.
