This was the second time Precision did work for us--major pruning of two locusts and an ash. They were professional, courteous, explained everything, and did a great job, plus cleaned up nicely. Bill Whelan, their estimator, is excellent as well.

We hired Precision Landscape & Tree to remove a massive and problematic Cottonwood tree 6 feet from our dining room window and to prune another in the back of the yard. We also needed some advice on recabling a Honey Locust and pruning a large Maple in the front yard. This was a huge job broken up into two days. First, the team came to inspect the Honey Locust and prune the Maple. Then on day two, they tackled the two Cottonwoods. The crew arrived at 7:00 a.m., polite, friendly, and ready to work. Once the crane was set up, everyone worked like a well-oiled machine. The efficiency in keeping the job moving, simultaneously keeping the street clear of debris, was terrific to see. There is a reason Precision Landscape & Tree has been in business for 30+ years, and I'm happy to have seen why.

Precision removed two very large trees from our property in August. From my estimation, this was a tricky removal requiring a large crane and road closure. Their name certainly fits what they do - they removed both trees with amazing precision and coordination. The crews on the ground, the crane operator, and the climber all worked together so smoothly, it was fun to watch! They also cleaned up so well, you couldn't tell that two large trees had just been removed. Great work - I highly recommend Precision Landscape and Tree, Inc.

The city of Minneapolis contracted them to remove a stump in front of my home. They shattered the back window of my vehicle. I reached out to the city, who advised me to contact them. In good faith, I attempted to contact them. They ignored me for days, but in this time, they came out to my home, inspected my vehicle and filed a police report against me. When they did respond, they were adamant they played no part in the damage and insisted their process could not have broken the glass. I had a glass specialist come out, repair the glass, and confirmed that this kind of damage occurs from stump removals all the time. Precision Tree couldn't fathom how a glass professional could determine how glass was broken and insisted they knew it couldn't have happened that way. They implored me to come to them and see their machinery, which seems ridiculous, as I found their team working again a few weeks later and asked if this kind of damage ever happened, to which they said absolutely yes, and when it does, we help take care of it. They refused to provide me with any information regarding the police report filed against me and advised me to contact the police for further details. Absolutely ridiculous. My email to them was kind and patient. I didn't file a police report because I honestly believed they would be reasonable. Accidents happen, and I absolutely understand this. But to file a police report against me and then deny me any further information? I'm beyond grateful I was able to replace the window myself, at my own cost. This would have absolutely screwed most others. Goodness knows this business has absolutely no integrity and will contact the authorities if you question their actions. If you are unfortunate enough not to have a choice and have a tree removed by them, please ensure you record their work.

FAQ

How does Precision Landscape and Tree determine pricing for tree removal and pruning services?

We assess each job based on factors like tree size, location, access challenges, and equipment needs to provide a custom quote. Free estimates are available after an on-site visit to ensure accuracy for your specific property. This approach accounts for complexities such as trees near homes or without backyard access.

Are you licensed and insured for tree service work?

Precision Landscape and Tree carries full licensing and insurance to protect your property during tree removals, pruning, and landscape projects. Our arborists follow industry standards for safe operations, including coordination for power line deactivations when necessary. Homeowners can request proof of coverage before work begins.

Does Precision Landscape and Tree handle difficult tree removals like those near houses or without backyard access?

We specialize in challenging removals using low-impact equipment, cranes, and bucket trucks for massive trees close to structures or in tight spaces. Our team manages tasks like grinding stumps, pruning large cottonwoods or silver maples, and coordinating utilities. This ensures safe execution even for 80-100 year old trees with multiple trunks.

What is your typical timeline and arrival window for scheduled tree service jobs?

We schedule jobs promptly after quote approval, arriving on the agreed date with clear time windows communicated in advance. Complex projects requiring cranes or road closures are planned efficiently to minimize delays. Our crew completes work like removing five ash trees in a single morning, moving directly to the next task.

What does Precision Landscape and Tree do with debris and cleanup after tree removal?

We grind stumps and fill the holes, then use grapple trucks to haul away all debris, leaving your property clean and tidy. Crews thoroughly clean up after large removals, ensuring no branches or chips remain. This includes site restoration as part of every job.

Why is hiring you safer and better than attempting DIY tree pruning or removal?

Professional arborists use specialized tools like cranes and bucket trucks to handle risks that DIY lacks, preventing damage to homes or power lines. Our low-impact methods and experience with disease management and cabling avoid long-term tree harm or accidents. Homeowners benefit from expert assessments that identify issues early, unlike improper cuts which can weaken trees further.
